Was the servant (the narrator) in denial?

I felt that the servant was putting his lord on a pedestal. There were some parts in the story that confused me, even though the facts and testimonies were cleared. What do you think?, do you think that the narrator was just excusing his lord's bad actions?

- Having a lust for the painter's daughter
- Sacrificing one of his pages
- Almost rolling over a man
- Sacrificing the painter's daughter and calling her a sinner
