Chapter summary.
My book was King's Ransom.

Chapter 1: Persuasion to get King's voting stocks and to get King to vote off the Old Man fired failed miserably and infuriated the soon-to-be kidnappers.

Chapter 2: King and Meyer talk about the thefts at Meyer's store.

Chapter 3: King chatted with a few different people about different things before the chapter ended with a boy walking towards kidnappers, who were King's colleagues.

Chapter 4: The Kidnappers called King and told him they had kidnapped his "son" and asked for a ransom..

Chapter 5: King was interrogated by Carella and the Kidnappers found out that they were stupid enough to catch the wrong kid.

Chapter 6: The Kidnappers considered killing the chauffeur's son held hostage as King did not want to pay the ransom.

Chapter 7: King got another call from the kidnappers but even if others insisted, he still did not want to pay the ransom.

Chapter 8: Kathy wanted to return Jeff home after having an argument with her husband but ended up being discovered by Sy and had to listen to a boring (and worrying) explanation of their plan.

Chapter 9: Diane has an argument with King and ends up calling him a selfish, stuck-up person and threatened to leave him if he didn't pay.

Chapter 10: King found out about Pete's betrayal (cliché trope) in telling about his Boston deal to the kidnappers and went crazy mad. On top of that, Diane was packing up to leave.

Chapter 11: Eddie went out to call King and buy some groceries along the way (of course, the groceries were under Kathy's instructions) while King refused to help his begging chauffeur continued trying to find more clues with the police.

Chapter 12: A chapter just centered on Sy trying to rape Kathy and her being defended by Jeff, before Eddie finally arrived and along with everyone else, knew that the police found out about their stolen car.

Chapter 13: The kidnapper's instructions were blown by Kathy and they ended up locking Sy up, getting Jeff back, while Eddie and Kathy ran away.

Chapter 14: Philosophical meaning of the story that conveys the message that King (us), has to pay his (our) own ransom one day, no matter what it is. And only by this way, can we change from being a bastard like King to a better person.
