Abby | 12 comments I like PN and UF, I just finished up the Jane yellow rock series which I quite enjoyed and some of my favorites from the past are the Kate Daniels series, the fever series, Cat and bones series, Dorina Basabarb series. I like romance added in but I don't want it to consume the story. I feel as if I have read all of the good stuff out there and am now lost where to find more great series to read. Any recommendations would be a great help :) Thank you

Have you tried Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires series, I really enjpyed that. You could also check out Darynda Jones, Nalini singh, Thea Harrison and Jennifer Ashley.

Abby | 12 comments Oh and I loved Jones series!! Defiantly one of my favorite! I read Kim Harrison's books a long time ago but had trouble getting into them and dropped it half way.

Raven Black | 34 comments Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. The series starts off not good but with each book it gets better. You just have to be patient with the main character. Another series is the Elemental Assassin, those books are amazing. I noticed that you read Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series. You should check the October Dayes series by Seanan McGuire. This series starts out slow with the main character doing stupid things but as the series progresses October has some character development.

Haven't read Kim Harrison :) have you tried Thea Harrison, her elder races series is great. Also Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter and Larissa Ione for others you could check out. Enjoy :))))

Lindsey (ucdlindsey) I definitely second the rec for the October Daye series Rosemary and Rue (October Daye #1) by Seanan McGuire , and would also recommend these other UF series. I'm not much for PNR so I'll let others handle those recommendations. ;)

Kara Gillian series Mark of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #1) by Diana Rowland

Alex Craft series Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price

Charlie Madigan series The Better Part of Darkness (Charlie Madigan, #1) by Kelly Gay

Thanks for mentioning the Dresden files. I finished book 2 and I found both 1 and 2 great but depressing. I'll read further.

BarbaraAnn | 43 comments have you read anything by Tanya Huff? She has several series out but to start, I'd recommend Blood Price, which is the first book in the Vickie Nelson series and Summon the Keeper which is the first book in a trilogy that I thought was hilarious.

MadameZelda @Barbara and Jennifer.

Thank you, ladies.

I actually like a variety. But my sis and I have been commenting that contemporary romances lately have been the same-old same-old.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 67 comments Do you like SF/F? You might like Radiance (Wraith Kings, #1) by Grace Draven which is the first book in a trilolgy with the second due out in the next month or so. Draven also wrote Master of Crows (Master of Crows, #1) by Grace Draven and Entreat Me by Grace Draven , both romantic fantasy. For older books with romantic elements in both SF and F, you might like Andre Norton. If you do, there are a lot of books by her. Some of her oldest ones are in the public domain and are free. Witch World (Witch World Series 1 Estcarp Cycle, #1) by Andre Norton The Time Traders (Time Traders/ Ross Murdock, #1) by Andre Norton The Crystal Gryphon (Witch World Series 2 High Hallack Cycle, #5) by Andre Norton Catseye by Andre Norton

Shannon Deconinck | 1 comments Ok, lovers of paranormal thrillers, here's a kick-ass, mind spinning, roller-coaster of a twisted tale, including extraterrestrials, gangsters, parallel realities, mythical monsters, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, and a whole heap more!
The Idiot Messiah by Shannon DeConinck has got the lot! The intricate plot is held together by snappy dialogue, and punchy humour, the characters are dynamic and real, and the anti-hero, Carlos Delgado is the man you love to hate!
The story starts in the sleazy underworld of LA gangland, and takes the reader on an psychotropic journey, crossing multiple universes, to a climax both terrifying an exhilarating in the Himalayas of North India.
The story is both a fast-paced adventure, and a story of personal redemption. It's thought provoking, touching and very entertaining.
