I don't remember much and I do plan on reading the sequel.
I'm so glad it was chosen, I've been recommended by friend to read it. I really hope I can find it in stores, but if not I'll read it online.
Could you let me know if you've found a link to read the book online, Sara? I dont think I will be able to buy this one :)
Sara & Ayunda, I have a link to doe load the book. I can share it here or in a gr message.
Thanks, Bhavya!Has anyone started reading the book yet? We're merely days towards February! I don't know when I'm gonna get round to reading it, I have so many things to do this month :( And I'm not really in the mood for a series, all I wanna read are stand alones... Has anyone ever felt like this before?
Don't feel bad Ayunda! We all know how life can get in the way of reading :( I'm a mood reader, so it's always a bit more difficult for me to stick to "assigned" books, and sometimes, I'm also not in the mood for series. Just read what you want, especially if you can't read often :)
Yess, definitely Ayunda but thankfully right now I'm in the mood for fantasy and/or romance novels for some reason. Also I haven't started reading either but I am going out to try and find the book today so hopefully I'll get started on it soon.

Im still new to fantasy books. Ive read only the Gunslinger/ Dark Tower series. Our group will push me into new and interesting directions!

Yeah, sorry if I might not join in for this month's group read. Which is a shame because I've been reading all our group reads ever since we started!Has anyone started reading the book yet?
Has anyone started yet? I'm about half way through right now, and I've noticed there are a lot of Arabic words written in English letter, ex. Emir, Souk, etc. I'm an Arab so I get what she's saying but I was wondering how you guys are understanding so far? And are you find it annoying?
I haven't started it (& idk if I will...it would be a reread) but I just finished reading a book that does the same thing. And it was a bit annoying. I was able to understand a few words but only because they are/very similar to the hindi word for the same thing.
Hi Sara, I've seen that you rated the book 5 stars! I'm glad you liked the book!Which aspect of the book is your favourite?
Oh god so much! The suspense, the magic, the romance, just everything. I love the pace it went at, although I never really cared about the dad in the story , he just really annoyed me. Also I loved reading the flashbacks about Shavi's last night, I really like her friendship with Shahrzad. And I, for unknown reasons, really was interested in the Rajput, even tho he didn't speak the entire book but from his occasional grunt and incredible power of eternal poker face I could tell he was one interesting man;I'd love to read a book just about him.

That's great! What about the others? How far are you into the book? Do you agree with Sara's thoughts on the book?
Im into it at page 86. Its definitley YA. The story is okay-- ive read 1,001_nights so W&D is pretty watered down by comparison. The writing isnt bad-- though the author focuses too much on superficial details regarding hair and clothes and appearences &c., &c..-- but those are interesting to YA readers. Am I in a YA book club? I dont mean to be: i'm 50.
Nevertheless, I'll read it ...
