Any plans for the 4th of July?

We're going to a friend's house for a VERY casual cook-out .. basic hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad.

However you are celebrating, enjoy and be safe.

We're going to Shipshawana , Indiana for a concert and the hot air balloon festival is taking place in Battle Creek now, We are so close to the airport that we see the balloons and the Thunderbirds without ever leaving the driveway. I don't know what happened to the Blue Angels. They were supposed to also be here. Have a safe and happy 4th.

Just to let you all know ... I'll be traveling the first two weeks of December so may not be very active here. We're going to my niece's wedding and taking a few extra days of holiday time. I'll have internet access for most of the time, but not sure how often I'll avail myself of the opportunity to check in and update.

I should be back to full participation around Dec 13.

We just attended the Veteran's Day ceremonies at Ft. Custer Cemetary here. Our oldest son who was in Iraq and Afghanistan was here. He and his wife live in Louisianna...he was here on business for his company. He wanted to go to a ceremony...and we were going to go to this one...so was glad to have his company. He's going to be with us until Saturday and then is going to Oregon to visit with his "baby" brother. He's never met his brother's husband or seen their daughter that just turned a year old in October.

Oh, what a special event to share with your son and D-i-L. And how nice that he's going to visit his "baby" brother.

My "baby" brother will be 60 in a couple of weeks.

My sincere condolences to your friend. Every holiday will be difficult for him for a while. He's lucky to have friends like you that are "there" for him. Hope the day went well for all of you.
