I'm Tessa (a/k/a Book Concierge). Married, no kids, no pets. I grew up in Texas but have lived in Wisconsin since I came to Marquette University.
I work in healthcare administration for a group of pediatric surgeons.
In addition to reading, I like gardening, travel, theater (especially musical theater), and cooking (and eating).
My user name came from one of my F2F book clubs. I was getting frustrated that no one else seemed to be suggesting books for future reads. I was trying to encourage them to offer some titles when one of them said, "But you're our Book Concierge!"

I'm an early-retired IT person who loves reading, writing, walking, technology, movies, puzzles, fun AND ALL OF MY WONDERFUL FAMILY!
Hi Everyone,
I'm Diana, a Texan gal.
I usually carry a book in my hand and a couple in my purse where I go. ( a fan of big purses).
I belong to several book clubs and book groups. I have a big love of reading challenges!
Besides reading, I love cooking, gardening, playing percussion in a Saba group with my husband, going camping and hanging out with my little granddaughter. :D

I'm Patty. Grew up in Minnesota but am living in North Carolina now.
I have always loved reading.
My daughter got me involved with the book clubs a couple years ago. I love the challenges in the clubs. They have expanded my reading genres.
I started going to antique stores and collect old books. Which also brought me back to some classics.

Thanks! You have some great challenges. I hope I will meet these challenges.

Thank you Book--I am checking out the Quarterly Challenge against what I already have from the library to read. Think I'll give it a try!!

Hi everybody - I'm Sushicat and I've been looking in on you regularly on Shelfari but have withstood the temptation to join in yet another round of challenges. I'm folding...

Hi Olivermagus, Sushicat, Marti, Licha-Olivia, JennH
So glad you'll are here. Welcome to the group! :D

Hi Marti! I will also be 60 this year. Wasn't 1956 a great year!! I will be 60 in September. I have also been married 31 years, 32 in April. Wow. We have a lot in common. I am also a Shelfari transplant. I live in Minnesota.

I'm Bev (PennsyLady (Bev C))
Can you tell I'm from Pennsylvania?
I'm a refugee from Shelfari
I'm a retiree from a hosp. micro lab
For many reasons, my reading was minimal in the past.
Now....
I'm a returnee to the wonderful world of "books"

I am also from Minnesota. We moved to North Carolina about 5 years ago. We got so tired of the cold and wanted to go somewhere warm. What part of Minnesota? I am from Int'l Falls.

Carol, if you ever come "across the pond" to Milwaukee's Irish Fest, let me know. Would love to meet you in person.

I will certainly do that, Tessa. Right now we have to do one day trips because I just don't want to leave my mother alone overnight. She gets around well and there is someone that checks on her during the day but I just don't want to chance leaving her alone for too long a time.

You too. This is what I said I wasn't going to do:) You getting ready to come home?

Yes.....April 20th. Isn't that your birthday?
I wasn't going to either but I like the reading challenges they offer here. I figure I can move back and forth between the two sites. There's no way we could do the Mystery and Suspense Plus discussions here.

Welcome to the group, Connie. I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends and might even find some old ones.
