At this very moment, I am reading The Mermaid and Let the Right One In. I am also listening to The Gunslinger - this is technically a re-read for me.

Depending on how quickly I get done with these, I might read Rebecca this weekend (it is actually a group buddy read, so you should join, if you want) and Ruin and Rising if my library copy comes through. On Monday, I will start Geekerella, which is also a group buddy read here.

I am trying to read more German books. It's hard for me to get a hold of them here in the US, but I made it a goal for this year. So anyone, wanting to join me in that, just let me know.

Welcome to the group, Katie! Any friend of Dawn Michelle's must be A+! Oh yes, the endless struggle of getting that TBR down. It's so hard! I already know I buy too many books. But I've officially reached my capacity in my home library. So unless I extend to one of the spare rooms...nope! Getting out of hand! lol. But having a challenge to focus in a group makes that TBR stay in the foreground instead of hiding! :) If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome to our little group Katie! We are always happy to make new friends, especially a friend of Dawn Michelle's. You said one of your goals was to have a more experimental reading year. This group had really helped me to try some authors and genres that are out of my typical wheelhouse. we have an eclectic group of readers that are really good about sharing good book recommendations.

Hi everyone! I've been on and off of GR for a few years now and I'm trying to get plugged in again, and into regular reading once more. I was looking for a smaller, laid back challenge group and this one seems to be a perfect fit :)

I have an eclectic reading style and like just about everything. I'm also a library enthusiast and ALL the books I read come from my two local library branches, (I literally do not own any books, lol). I'm currently getting back into the habit of going to the library every week and just browsing the shelves and picking up books that are unfamiliar to me-new authors, new series etc.

I'm in the Midwest, have 3 kids who do their schooling at home, we live in the country, and we have way to many pets :)

Excited to meet everyone here!

Stacie (stacieh) | 1945 comments Welcome to the group :) I've been part of several GR groups over the years and this is the only one I've stayed with. It's a great, supportive group of ladies and gents. Between us we've got such an ecclectic group of interests there's almost always someone to do a read-along with if you like buddy reads, and there are several Read-A-Thons (also known as "Who-Needs-To-Do-Laundry-When-You-Have-Books" days) each year. Hope you have fun!

Welcome to the group! So glad you found us! It looks like you've got the ropes down pretty well, already created your challenge and popped in the Kingtober thread. :) We do readathons every few months or so, usually 3-day weekend long, sometimes weeklong. Stacie, I love that extended readathon name! ;)

Thanks for the welcome! I used to be really big into readathons, (I think it was the Dewey one?) and I'd like to ease back into those :)

Elyse-I'm hoping to get back into readathons now that my kids are older and more self-sufficient :) Looks like one just wrapped up for Labor Day, I'll keep my eye open for the next one!

Katie-thanks for the welcome, glad I'm not the only newbie here :D

I very belated welcome to our little group ZeeJane! We are always so happy to have new members that become new friends. We are a fun little casual group. We started out at a group for people trying to read 75 books a year. Over time people have changed their goals to a wide variety but we have just stuck together in this group because we like each other. So feel free to set a goal that works for you :)
