What was your favourite thing about the book?
What was something unique from this book you enjoyed?

If you've seen the movie, how did you like it in comparison to the book?

Read Me Like… (readmelike) I loved how the book was told from different POVs and then the characters who you've been hearing from all meet up in the end, that was interesting, gave it something special.

The book definitely left me questioning EVERYONES intentions. While reading it, I would text my niece who had already read it, "Can I trust this person?" or "Can I trust that person?" or "Are you sure I can trust them because they just did such and such?" There was no trust factor for me, and seeing how Cassie, and eventually Zombie, doesn't trust anyone either, I think that was an amazing job of the author to get us to feel what the character is feeling.

Emily (dustsmokeandglitter) | 3 comments I'm half way thru right now (must not see movie before finishing obviously) and I love it so much. The writing style and how well Rick Yancey portrays sarcasm really impresses me. It's also neat how you don't really know much about the aliens cept that they want to kill everyone. I wont say much but omg Nugget, I want to cry (that's where I am in the book). Will definitely be rating 5 stars and reading The Infinite Sea and The Monstrumologist!

Sage (sageyybear) This book terrified me. It gave me anxiety and trust issues. I think I worried more for Cassie than she worried for herself. I realize that may make it seem like a bad book, but it's not. It was a wonderful book, it was so good that I physically felt for the characters–and that's not something all authors manage to accomplish.

I'm really scared about the movie. Hollywood has a tendency to make terrible adaptions of amazing books *cough Percy Jackson cough*, but I'm trying to be hopeful. Chloë Grace Moretz actually looks exactly like what I envisioned Cassie would look like. Fingers crossed.

Read Me Like… (readmelike) @sage That is exactly how I felt during the book. It caused me constant trust issues. I was constantly texting my niece who had already read it on if I could trust people (of course she told me nothing).

I'm also worried about the movie, but Chloe isn't who I pictured. None of the actors looked liked what I had pictured.

Well I suppose what really matters more than the actors' looks is their acting ability. The problem with book adaptation movies is everyone has a different mind, so everyone envisions the characters a bit differently. There's no way everyone is going to be completely happy with the cast, but hopefully they'll portray the characters so well their apperance won't matter (although I honestly doubt that will be the case :/ )

Elle (elleatkins) | 1 comments I know I'll definitely regret writing this, but who's "team" are you on?
Ben's or Evan's?

By the way, I'm team Ben.

To me, he makes up the series. It's really hard to explain, but I see Evan being more like Cassie's love interest, I don't see him as Evan Walker. More of a tag along.
But Ben makes his own name in the series, both independently AND being Cassie's love interest. His personality is truly amazing and I would love to know someone like that.
Also, I think I just love the idea of a girl loving a boy. Boy not noticing. Apocalypse strikes. They separate. Girl gets over boy. Finds another boy. And boy she used to love getting jealous of new boy. Boy she used to love realising he loves her. And trying to prove that to her and making up for lost time they could have had together.

Wow, okay, I babble a lot.

Nicole (booksandphotography) I really liked this book but it took me very long to finish. I also had problems with the diffrent pov's becuase first I didn't know whose pov it was. I really love the writing style and the whole concept. And I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm going to soon

Emily (dustsmokeandglitter) | 3 comments I'm kind of Team Evan... :)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I liked this book well enough, but I didn't loved it. I liked the idea of the alien invasion and the waves were very clever, especially the 5th one (I kind of guessed before the big reveal, but oh well). I think I would be happier if it was just Cassie's POV, because I loved her, she is a very interesting character. I really, really don't like Ben. Idk what it is, if it's the way he's written, or his personality, but everytime I reached his POV I would count the pages till Cassie's POV and would drag a lot until his part was over. Also, was it really necessary to make Ben THE Ben Parrish, the guy Cassie had this major crush on before the whole alien apocalypse even though she never even spoke to him at all, just to make this an OBVIOUS, IN-YOUR-FACE love triangle? Ugh, what's with YA's books and love triangles? You have an alien invasion already, they have a lot to worry about, why throw more drama their way?
I really liked Evan though, and the way he cared about Cassie so much he turned his back on his own to help her. idk, I think I'm in for the "I'm-supposed-to-kill-you-but-I-fell-in-love-with-you" trope.
Still have to see the movie, but I like Chloé Moretz and I think she will be a good Cassie. I have my doubts about the rest of the cast.
