G.K. Werner (gkwerner) | 9 comments Hi folks!

My fantasy story, Finders Keepers (90 pages), is now available for 99¢ on Amazon. It’s part of a much bigger story I’ve been writing for a long time. Years ago, Emily Snyder published a different part of the story in her Tower of Ivory magazine (that I still miss). A major agent showed interest in the first book two years ago and generously spent time giving me pointers—an answer to prayer—and I’m going to resubmit soon, God willing. Hopefully, she’ll remember who I am.

I’m hoping to entertain readers who enjoy fantasy but want stories that don’t insult Christians or overwhelm readers with occult beliefs, stories with a sound Biblical perspective on all that without putting anyone down. Finders Keepers, for example, might appeal to people interested in Dungeons and Dragons. It draws on myth and folklore, but has Christian concepts regarding good and evil, and the nature of sorcery and the Bible without being preachy. Please share and give it a try if you like fantasy.

Thanks!!!!!!!
GK Werner

R.J. Gilbert (rjagilbert) | 41 comments If I may intrude on this post for those DnD fans out there...A few sword-and-sorcery books I am promoting myself:
Men of Renown is available for $2.50 at Smashwords.com, coupon code PQ78P, until February 29th. This book was written as an illustration of end-times prophecy and the quest for fame in the days before the flood that destroyed the empire of Atlantis. I actually went out and bought a Dungeons and Dragons video game as "inspiration" for this story, since the "heroes of old" are modeled after the stereotypical warriors and wizards of that game. (Spoiler alert, for those who don’t think a book about Atlantis and wizards belongs in Christian literature, the upper-right corner of the cover will tell you who this book is really about!)

Also available at Smashwords.com are the first two books of my Tales of Vantoria series. Both The Sarian’s Sword and The Lucky and the Strong are currently free. Tales of Vantoria is best described as a fantasy sci-fi blend of adventure that I wrote for families to read and enjoy together. In a non-parallel plain between many diverse worlds, the characters must hash out their differences amid a series of adventures that serve as a symbolic discussion of our own differences in doctrines and beliefs here on Earth.

The Sarian’s Sword (coupon code QV96A) is a fantasy adventure that doubles as a discussion on the liberal and fundamental interpretations of the Bible that, in my personal experiences, seem to vary more than night and day. What better way to explore these differences than a world where dragons and flying cars share the skies and armored swordsmen team up with wizards and high-tech-riflemen to do battle against goblins and magical perils. In the world of “Shift”, a Bible college student from Earth finds himself in the middle of an evil plot to steal a powerful sword and use it for pure evil. Can Wenchel decipher the mysteries of his “map” and find the true treasure waiting for him? Or will an evil wizard use “twisted scriptures” to imprison the entire kingdom?

These two books are free until March 17th. Why March 17th? The main storyline of the Lucky and the Strong (Coupon code VS65F) follows a reckless fairy from her carefree home-world into the middle of a desperate struggle between Wenchel and an army of marauding trolls. Along the way she meets Renaud, a mighty swordsman who remains “sober and alert” while she continues to depend on her luck to keep her out of trouble. Their relationship soon becomes a "paranormal romance" as they argue out their differences. Will Mary continue to live recklessly “so that grace may increase”? Or will she learn to take responsibility for her actions and help Wenchel and his friends defend the kingdom?

The third book of this series is also available, but only on Amazon.com at the moment. (I’m trying out the benefits of keeping it exclusive to Amazon so that Prime members may borrow it). I hope to announce more “free” promotional days in the near future, since I feel that this adventure is very relevant to this year’s overshadowing, divisive political storm.

Mike Casper | 2 comments Hey GK I wrote a Christian fantasy (sort of) too. Check it out here:

http://www.amazon.com/Sing-Song-Child...

My characters created roses that bloom in the snow, trees that burn for weeks if not months and light-roses that emit light and flourish in an underground passageway...

Take a look and let me know if you like what you see. Let's talk. I do an enormous amount of research for my writing to ensure accuracy but some things need to be given by God.

Wow! Looks good. Moving. Probably a lot more meaningful than my little romp. Thanks.

R.J. Gilbert (rjagilbert) | 41 comments Dungeon of Illusion (Tales of Vantoria 3) by Robert J.A. Gilbert

Here's that promo I mentioned above:
For a limited time, Dungeon of Illusion is free for Kindle readers. For all who like blended genres, this series brings together the best of magic, monsters, battle, romance, science fiction and fantasy to create a non-parallel world where differences become strengths and disagreements about beliefs could mean the difference between survival and certain doom.

In the spirit of love, Dungeon of Illusion will be free from Valentine’s day to the 18th on Amazon.com. Find out what happens when a city is divided by two leaders struggling for its control. Can Wenchel and his friends avoid the danger of division? And if they must join in the fighting, whose side should they choose?
