The Golden Lily
question
Sydneys aversion to magic

I understand that magic freaks her out. But felt like they were beating a dead horse over and over how many times it freaked her out in this book. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Nope. I totally get you. It really seemed like her aversion to magic was simply used just to create drama.
It was comical and downright ridiculous, for sure, although I thought her reactions to magic in The Indigo Spell were even worse because it basically made her a hypocrite.
I feel as though magic freaks Sydney out only because of the effect it will have on her. If she does it for a while then she will get addicted. Just like any old thing. If she gets addicted to the magic then the other Alchemists will catch on and then catch her and then send her to the re-education center. She probably is going to get sent there eventually. I just believe if that's her true calling then she should embrace it but she shouldn't get addicted. I truly think that her teacher (I forget her name) is just there to help her truly discover herself. I thinks that's why Adrian is there to. :)
