Marc (mkupper) | 82 comments I was surprised that https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/403 includes Facebook in the examples of unacceptable links.

Facebook allows creation of Facebook pages about books and I suspect some authors use this feature these to set up a book's official page. See https://www.facebook.com/pages/create... and Books are under "Entertainment."

If an author chooses to add their personal Facebook page, that's fine. But librarians should not be adding Facebook pages to author profiles, as when we allowed this they were almost never official pages from the author, but fan pages.

Several authors do now have an own, official FB-page (I'm not referring to their personal profiles), because of not having or choosing to not have an own website, Are these pages (FB, Twitter, Google+, ...) then also (or still) considered unacceptable?

For librarians, yes, they still should not be added. On claimed profiles, the author themselves has more latitude.
