I got one suggestion. You can delete or transfer some doubles or triples subject like for a example "book suggestions" because is like 3 of them etc
If you guys ever need any more help let me know ^-^ I'm always willing to lend a hand and this group is pretty big XD
Ditto to everyone above, I've got way too much free time with J Term, so if you ever need anything, dont ever hesitate to ask! I'm always around to lend a helping hand or even just an opinion whenever needed(:
I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled to help as a moderator. ^^ I have the time, when I'm not working, and I have several years experience on keeping GR groups clean and tidy, so it would be fun to help out here.
Great! I had my eyes on you 2 from day number 1! As Savannah said, couldn't think of 2 people more suited than you 2!And Kodak, I will keep you to that :P I know how/where to find you ;)
Great to see some new moderators on board. Congratulations and thanks. I'd like to see some of the threads merged where there are multiples on the same topic and self promotion posts deleted. When I came to the group today I thought it looked much better already!
Awesome!!Its nice to know that people I often saw on the topics are becoming moderator!
Congrats you 2,
you both will do a really great job!
<3
Reading some of the discussions yesterday, I was thinking you were already and unofficially doing the job. Congrats to you and I hope the task will not be to hard and you will keep enjoying the first goal of this group as members, first of all :)
This is just a suggestion, of course, but if you marked the Introductions thread as important, more people would use just that thread instead of the duplicates or making their own. ^^ It would just symbolize that it is where everyone should go without needing to explicitly say it.
Savannah wrote: "This is just a suggestion, of course, but if you marked the Introductions thread as important, more people would use just that thread instead of the duplicates or making their own. ^^"This is actually a matter of architecture. We have a few threads for introductions, but we need only one, and there will be only one eventually.
Do we actually need a distinct "Introductions" folder for just one thread? If not, which folder it should belong to?
But anyway, let it be an *important* topic for now.

I actually elaborated more on this in another thread. Here is the link to the post. ^^

Great to have you guys as official moderators :)Since this seems to have become a sort-of-suggestion-thread - it would be great to have all the 'small' book suggestion threads merged as well.
I'll be going through the smaller lists today, adding the rest of the suggestions to the book list. I'll make a note in each topic, so none of the suggestions will be lost.
Hopefully, you'll be able to delete some of them :)
Congrats to you guys, did a great job so far :)Incredible how fast this community is growing, there comes a lots of work up to you ;))
Greets x
Haha, Kodak, if you feel the need to moderate the group some more, renaming the threads is always a good place to start. ^^
Kodak wrote: "Haha, thank you very much Jonathan! ;) you're welcome, as long as you bring Cheetos, we're good! K x"
I did not even realize Cheetos still existed xD
But I sent you a message :P
Moderators, this group is getting out of control with all the discussion threads, took me quite a while to find the actual book being read this month which I think was the whole purpose of this group. It needs to be reigned in a bit
Seraphina wrote: "took me quite a while to find the actual book being read this month which I think was the whole purpose of this group"Um. It's on top of all other threads and folders. And there is a small widget right before all threads called "Currently reading", with book information and cover image. I'm not sure if we are able to do anything more than that. Btw how did you missed it? :-)
UPD: I'm talking about deskop web version; are mobile web or app versions looking more confusing? Can anyone confirm that it is hard to find some valuable information on these?
Kodak wrote: "I have iPhone app, it's fine for me as it shows the list of the separate folders."May this list of separate folders appear rolled up for a newcomer using mobile platform? Or there is a full overview provided, with a few top threads for each of them?
Kodak wrote: "Well, it's not quite like the desktop version, but it gives you the full list of title folders, and then you go into each individual folder and see all the threads within it :)"I think here may be the problem: our top-listed folder's name "Announcements" doesn't point out that it actually contains a thread with the currently reading book. So it doesn't mean anything for newcomers, and they can really get lost.
To be honest im new here and popped by to congratulate you both. :)
Kodak wrote: "Thank you very much, Noor! :)
Have you swung by the Introduction thread? If not, say hello to everyone!
Really hope you enjoy it here, take care!
K x"
just a moment ago i did thank you :) Im starting to really like this group

Omg, thank you all so much! The group looks amazing! I'm a very organized person and it was causing me physical pain seeing how chaotic the group was and knowing I couldn't fix it. (But I love seeing everyone's enthusiasm!) I can't believe how nice it is now! Welcome, it's so great to have you guys here!
And I didn't mentioned yet how grateful I am to all of you people for your support! Many and many thanks, together we will make this place a great starting point to real life changes!

Congratulations! Your time and work is appreciated :)
Congratulations to the new moderators! I just wanted to ask you if maybe in the future some moderators could be added for each language, so they can be in charge of the threads in that particular language. I'll be more than happy to cooperate with spanish bc it's my mother tongue :) Anyway, it is just a suggestion :) I'm happy to be part of this group, it already feels like a huuuuge family <3 (sorry if my english is not the best!)
Good choices! Kodak and Ash have been doing a fantastic job so far. :)I would love to be a volunteer moderator, too. Let me know if you need any!
Welcome Ash and Kodak !, im happy for you supporting Luke and Emma in this wonderful book club and im sure youll enjoy this job very much!
^-^ I know I've already said welcome to you guys, but welcome all the same, let me know if I can help in any way with organization via suggestions, I have plenty of tips to offer up to organize the group even more than it is now~
I think something that might prove helpful would be an archive folder. It would sit at the bottom of the list of folders and would mean you don't have to remove duplicate topics, but also would be able to clean up the folders from duplicates. Closing the topics you move to the archive folder and including a moved to archives, see (put a link to other topic here) to post on this topic before you freeze it will mean that people will be going to the topics already created before making their own. It would mean there aren't quite as many topics to have to scroll through as well.I think having a Topic request where people can ask to make a topic, or have a topic made for them that is encouraged to be used will help too, because then if there's already a topic made a duplicate won't be made since another member or a mod could let them know if one is made on that already.
A group message could help with some stuff too, send one out encouraging people with 0 comments to join in on the chats and get involved, and remind people to try and join an already created thread not make their own would help with the huge amount already made.
If you wanted to get very particular, you could sort the topics even more with more folders that will tailor more to individual matters like instead of just 'feminism' you could break it down to 'how you see feminism' since that is a huge topic with a lot of opinions, as well as a folder that tailors specifically to making changes in your area, or discussing certain aspects of feminism. It would make finding particular topics a little easier if it was broken down more, but that might be pretty hard since there are so many topics XD
