The italics worked for me but I also used < as opposed to [

Backlands OK - you have to use < before the command and > after the command.

I enjoyed Cockroaches when I read it. I went on a bit of a Nesbo kick after that. I like Harry Hole.

Diana S I'm currently somewhere in England at an old coal mining town named Stoneygate. Kit is learning about the history of his family and the coal mine. Kit's Wilderness by David Almond.
I also hop on a time machine to Seattle, Washington (MC living on a houseboat). It's 1959 and I'm learning about a dark secret.
Morning Glory by Sarah Jio.

So far this month I've been to:
I've revisited Rose, Oregon The Christmas Basket by Debbie Macomber in the middle of the North Atlantic Dead Wake The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson Collingswood, New Jersey The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick McKinney and Dallas, Texas The Cotton Queen by Pamela Morsi

So I'm curious how do you post links like kit's Wilderness?

I moved the bulk of my shelf a year or so ago and have been keeping it reasonably updated ever since so can't speak to that.

I am getting notifications. I came here through an email message.

Notifications don't seem to be a problem for me either.

Lesley Moseley | 717 comments There is some confusion that may be fixed now that I have updated my profile. No notifications and asking me to sign in, then not recognising my email etc etc... Yes, I think I might have to relocate from amazon.com to amazon.com.au so that it can stop getting tangled.. It's all learning.. I am enjoying the new features, immensely..

To update my profile I had to sign in with my FB password...go figure..

1. On top of the comment box - do you see add book/author click on it.
2. Then a box will pop up and it will ask you for the name of the book you are looking for. Type the name and click the search button.
★ 3. The picture of the book and name will pop up.
on the right of the box you will see the add button. Click on that. It will add the book title link to your box. ( before you can click the "add" button. You can click on the book title to see if its the right edition you are looking for).
4. If its not the right edition of the book - click on other editions right under the add button to find the right one.
5. If you want the bookcover - reference ★ at the bottom of that box you will see link and cover click on cover to see bookcover on your comment book. or do what I do I type in cover to book in the book title link. I find its faster. :)

Hope this helps! :)

Loved his first book. I was lucky enough to see him after reading it. There is a possibility that I will see him again, this month so wanted to be sure to read the book. I just need to talk somebody into going with me.

I find I prefer the title in text to the book covers. The book covers take up too much space and I have to hover over them to see what they are. What did you do to create the clickable link?

When making a comment: At the top of the box is the add book/author feature. So I clicked on that when I was ready to add the title in my comment. Typed in the title. At the bottom of that dialogue box is the choice to pick link or cover.

So you're suggesting we delete everything from the italicized area except the person posting and the book title? (Unless we are specifically replying to a statement in the post?)

Denizen wrote: "So you're suggesting we delete everything from the italicized area except the person posting and the book title? (Unless we are specifically replying to a statement in the post?) "

I think that helps to make things a little easier to follow in discussions where we have several books and ideas mentioned.

I try to remember to copy, what I am specifically attempting to reply to otherwise. It gets confusing when you think you are responding to someone and you get someone else's name in the post, since we do not have nesting.

message 47: by Denizen (new)

Denizen (den13) | 566 comments I've been trying to do that, too, but it can be tricky in a longer discussion. It can be difficult to find your original place after you've made a post.

I definitely think we need to keep discussions shorter than we have in the past (and stay on topic better as this particular post has nothing to do with mapping your reading. Arrrgghhh!)

I used to be a part of a forum which didn't have nesting and it went pretty well, but when two people would go off topic as we are doing somebody would usually tell them to start a new thread.

Right now, we are still in the figuring things out stage and hopefully we will work the kinks out soon. I like how PBT set things up and for somethings we can use them as an example.
