Chi What do you think will happen between Jane and Katie? Katie I think has been itching to fight Jane. I think this book might be the book where they begin to settle it. Probably a fight scene between the two of them. What are some things that you want to happen or think would happen in Shadow Rites?

Chi What do you think will happen once the European council arrives?

Kristen So far Jane has saved Kate several times when she was dying, kidnapped, and taken down in a fight, fact she was one of the first ones taken down when Leo's was stormed. Jane seems to like Katie though, and she never even got upset over the fact her vamp friend took a bite out of her, and told Jane she would one day be her servant. I don't know if a fight will ever happen between those too, Katie knows Jane has taken down more powerful opponents, beat Leo and Gregoire, I think if she was going to fight Jane or try and kill her, she would be more sneaky about it, and it would be because of some issue or involvement with Leo.

With the European Council? They already know about the son of Satan right? If Jane doesn't find a way to get rid of it for good and Leo gives him up, I don't see them being pacified by anything else. I don't have any ideas when it comes to the details of this fight, only that Jane and the younger brothers will be shouldering most if not all the work and saving everyone else's butts.

Truly hope Molly and her family aren't in it. If anyone can hold Jane's collar it's them.

Chi Have you read Blood in her veins that just came out? Off the Grid has a part that talks about Edmund's swordplay maybe better the Mercy blade's, Leo, and Gregoire. I was surprised. I was hoping in Shadow Rites we can get more information about Edmund and his past and why with all his power he was willing to be Leo's slave.

Kristen Yea I love Edmund besides the Younger brothers and Leo he is my favorite character. And no I haven't read it yet, I really don't want to read anything with Molly an Fam, or Katie and her "ladies", anyone else will be an exciting read though, but the ones I like the best don't seem to get a lot of page time.

And Jane was curious why Edmund made that choice for 20 years I think, of being at the bottom of the totem pole in Leo's service, losing everything he had, because Edmund was previously in a powerful position, then he lost the fight with another vamp, a female I forget who she was but Jane said even though she was powerful Edmund is a lot stronger and should of won. I thought maybe it was a secret Edmund was keeping to himself, but Brusier seems to know what it is and a lot more about Edmund, not that he's telling Jane anything. They don't see to have as many conversations or tell each other a lot of things, they haven't even talked about their relationship as any lines or defining it, didn't work with Rick.

Chi I also hate how the characters I love the most don't get a lot of pages. She wrote shorts with Bruiser's pov. But you know what I noticed is a lack of Leo in all of her shorts. And i didn't find a short with Leo's pov. Maybe it's harder to write from Leo's pov than other characters. For me Leo and Edmund are the most interesting characters of the Jane yellowrock series. It baffles why they get less page time, especially when partly continue the series due to Jane and Leo's dynamic!

Kristen I wonder how many books are left, and if she plans on making one of the side or secondary characters more important or prominent. Bruiser is more so, because he has a closer relationship with Jane, but that could change too. Besides Jane the Everhart's have a pretty big part in the series, Molly being Jane's best friend, but more importantly because her daughter Angie has played bigger roles in some of the books, which will probably continue since she'll only get stronger, I think it detracts some from Jane, and would rather not have Jane dumped on or pulled into their Drama, we've been there done that, and it always ends badly for her.

I think I've asked FH is Leo will have a bigger part in the series and Jane's life besides her boss, sort of an "unknown" with why Jane stuck around the vamps, since her excuses no matter the harm to her were lame. There has to be a bigger reason or end game then just being their primo champion and solving all the problems.

Chi I did wonder why Jane stuck around, especially when The Kid made it clear that Jane was rich. So her excus3 of needing money didn't make any sense anymore. I force myself to ewad scenes with Bruiser. I understand that Bruiser is with Jane right now, but I hope it doesn't last. I think she was hoping to write up to 15 books in this series!

Kristen Chi you mentioned reading Blood in her Veins, have you read all the shorts, I've only read a few since I really really can't stand Molly and her family (aside from Angie), I haven't read most of them. but I'm looking for one in particular FH posted a snippet of once and I can't find it. It was just a scene where Jane is in Beast form sitting beast Eli and Gee comes to see if she had gotten were taint, he calls her little goddess then says maybe he was wrong and that isn't what she was? Since I really really can't stand Molly and her family I haven't read most of them.

Also Leo had his son Emmanuel after he was turned, did we ever find out how that's possible or about the mother? I remember Jane asked Bruiser but he wouldn't say.

Chi I think that short was called "Beneath a Bloody Moon" or "Black Water." I'm leaning towards "Beneath a Bloody Moon." I did not come across any mention about Leo's son or who his son's mother was. I hope this isn't too late and that it helps even a little.

message 11: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Ok thanks, I'll take another look. And Leo's son, an the mother, yea I haven't seen any mention either only in the book where Jane kills the liver eater and then it was only brought up that once, just curious though. Loved Edmund and his part in the short,I wonder how long ago he started in Leo's service, and lost his place?

Chi wrote: "What do you think will happen between Jane and Katie? Katie I think has been itching to fight Jane. I think this book might be the book where they begin to settle it. Probably a fight scene between..." I'm not sure there would be time for Jane to take Katie on in Shadow Rites - she has her hands full with the witch conclave and trying to get ready for the EVs....

Chi wrote: "What do you think will happen once the European council arrives?" I think all heck will break loose and that Leo will have to fight to keep his territory. Of course, Jane and her team will be there to back him up.

Kristen wrote: "Yea I love Edmund besides the Younger brothers and Leo he is my favorite character. And no I haven't read it yet, I really don't want to read anything with Molly an Fam, or Katie and her "ladies", ..." You really would enjoy Shadow Rites - lots of Leo and Edmund face time :-)

And i didn't find a ..." There was a short story about Leo around Halloween of last year and Shadow Rites has a good amount of Leo time as well as Edmund time. Here's a link to that Leo POV short: Candy From a Vampire - http://www.faithhunter.net/wp/2015/10... Enjoy
