Eli (goodguyeli) | 8 comments What do we mark books as if they are bilingual? Some children's books have English and Spanish translations, for example.

Philip (burnnerman) | 5912 comments There is a mutilanguage option under the language section. Probably could then make a note of what language in the description of the book.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments I put it in the edition field, and in the description, and choose multiple languages as the language. If both language titles are on the cover, I put them in the title too. If they're in the same typeface on the cover, I do "Title A / Title B", if one is way more prominent I do like the non-latin translations with "Title A [Title B]".

ETA: Better idea how to do titles below in #4.

lethe | 16363 comments I think it's better to use Title A = Title B

= is used in the international rules to denote a bilingual edition, whereas / is used on GR to denote more than one title per book (omnibus editions). It would be nice to have that distinction.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments That does sound better actually. I think the square brackets thing is in the manual though, but can't check from the app.

lethe | 16363 comments Title in square brackets is just to transliterate non-Latin alphabets, it does not indicate a bilingual edition.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments Well luckily the only books I can remember doing that on are my daughters Japanese artbooks, I guess I just misremembered why I did that. Thanks for the correction (and I'll have to check through my and her shelves to make sure that's really the only place I did that :)
