Lisa Lindsay I have committed to reading only books I already own this year. I am hoping to read not only 36, but beyond this point also. Thank you, Bev, for arranging this challenge! It should be great fun. And it will probably save me a small fortune.

Me too Lisa! It finally dawned on me that if I kept buying books, & getting books in trade, my TBR stack would only get larger & larger. So my rule is: no buying books, but I can get books with trade credits I've amassed. The trouble is, Tht keeps me about even ... yikes!

Lisa Lindsay I'm afraid I have already broken my book-buying ban. I have Alan Rickman's audio book of The Return of the Native on back order at Amazon.

I know myself too well to impose book bans. I suggested to my husband that I wouldn't get any books this year and instead put the money towards book shelves for the teetering stacks....he just laughed at me (he knows me well too...). I've already brought 13 new books into the house (8 are from a gift certificate, so they don't really count...right?).

I don't blame you for tht! He had the most wonderful voice! I might even break my rules for that one myself!

Lisa Lindsay While I was not able to resist buying more books, a good many of the 30 I have read so far this year qualify for Mount TBR status, as follows:

No More Meltdowns: Positive Strategies for Managing and Preventing Out-of-Control Behavior, by Jed Baker

Coloring Outside Autism's Lines, by Susan Walton

The Cultural Literacy Trivia Guide, by Steven Ferrill

100 Years of the Best American Short Stories

Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith, by Robert Barron

Joyland, by Stephen King

The BBC Shakespeare Plays: Making the Televised Canon, by Susan Willis

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

Different, Not Less: Ultimate Success Stories from People with Autism and Asperger's, by Temple Grandin

Shakespeare's Freedom, by Stephen Greenblatt

The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum, by Temple Grandin

The Shakespeare Miscellany, by David Crystal

How Shakespeare Changed Everything, by Stephen Marche

The Book of William: How Shakespeare's First Folio Conquered the World, by Paul Collins

Parallel Play, by Tim Page

Macbeth (Norton Critical Edition), by William Shakespeare

A Dark-Adapted Eye, by Barbara Vine

That's 17 books down out of 36! Still got some work to do.
