Maybe posting links to sites that offer free ebooks could be another option? Amazon usually has a decent selection & I know there are other sites as well.
Sally wrote: "Maybe posting links to sites that offer free ebooks could be another option? Amazon usually has a decent selection & I know there are other sites as well."It's too easy to break someone's rights with some of those links
Unfortunately i do not know much of them, but that would be really helpfull. I tried to search for some yesterday after i understood that so many people will not be able to read same books because they cannot afford it, but i had no luck. so if someone can share usefull links please do that.
The website bookbub.com lists discounted and free books from Amazon.com, B&N and google books. The books are usually less than $3 temporarily and sometimes free. You can even have them email you daily with discounted books in your favorite genres! And it's completely legal.
-for Us readers-If the books are posted for the list in advance, you can email/call your local library and ask them to have the books in the list added to the digital library service! Im sure if you provide links that this is a real book club started by Emma Watson that they might oblige faster. This way you can download the Ebook onto your computer or phone. As long as you have a library card. and this would make the books available to more people across the board.

i think they're probably ok if it's a read online library rather than a download site. If they're here, they're on the internet but they may not be near a bricks and mortar library or bookstore so I'd recommend searching for the book title and 'pdf' or 'read online'.
Also look on Amazon for the used copies. I've bought a lot of books for $4 or less buying them slightly used. Just look at the other buying options link.
I bought tge audiobook and can give it to up to 10 people.I have made this offer before but the only ones who replied were owutside the US and geographic restrictions prohibit sharing..Details on Audible's program here

If interested, send me an email address via PM

Not only will they make the electronic book available but will bring in a requested hard cover book. I've already done this with my library.

Amal wrote: "I would be happy to provide links of books that we will read every month from my Dropbox so everybody who can't afford them or can't reach them can read these books and enjoy discussing and enlight..."Thank you very much Amal!
I am from Brazil, and this book wasn't released here.
The price of imported books are very high, and I can afford them.
But now I can participate too.
;)

I really would buy it if I could get it here in my country... Hopefully next titles are going to be easier for me!

I hope the next book will be easier to get for me so I don't have to use this method all the time !
Kodak wrote: "As mentioned, the Pay it Forward idea is being looked into. The fact that you are adding notes on your books will make it even more interesting for the person who gets it.
I haven't found the book in my local library, unfortunately, and ordering it would take too much time :(
Amal wrote: "I would be happy to provide links of books that we will read every month from my Dropbox so everybody who can't afford them or can't reach them can read these books and enjoy discussing and enlight..."is there anyway we can get automatic updates whenever theres a new book in your dropbox? :D
I'm also from Brazil and this book hasn't been translated to portuguese and even though I can read in english, the dollar is almost 4x our current currency, so it's very expensive and I cannot afford it :(Even the Kindle ebook is overpriced for me. If anyone, after reading it, doesn't want the physical copy anymore, I'd love to have my own.
For now, I'm so thankful to Amal for sharing this!
I'm finished with my book and would gladly send it on to someone else :) I highlighted some things that I felt were thought provoking but other than that it's brand new :)
Thanks Amal for sharing your copy! I'd like to buy the book but the only way I can have it would mean waiting 15-20days so this is a good option :)
Amal wrote: "I would be happy to provide links of books that we will read every month from my Dropbox so everybody who can't afford them or can't reach them can read these books and enjoy discussing and enlight..."Amal, thank you SO much! I am from Brazil and I've tried to buy the book but it is very expensive and sadly I can't afford it right now.
Lilian wrote: "Guys, I'm Brazilian and I could not find this book in Portuguese ! if someone can help me! please"Lilian, ainda não há tradução brasileira. Para falar a verdade, só vi o livro no formato digital -o custo médio é de R$ 65-, mas se você quiser tentar ler em Inglês, por um custo mais acessível, já disponibilizaram aqui através do Dropbox.
Hey guys, I'm from Brazil too. Like some people said it already, we don't have a portuguese version and the english one is waay overpriced right now, our currency is ridiculous :/ I would love if someone could send it to me!
In the US: has anyone gotten into the OverDrive Library I absolutely love it. You need a library card and then you have access to free e-books and audio book downloads. Check it out. <3

Amal wrote: "I would be happy to provide links of books that we will read every month from my Dropbox so everybody who can't afford them or can't reach them can read these books and enjoy discussing and enlight..."No way!! I have been on the 'hold' list at my library FOREVER trying to get my hands on the book! You just made my month! Now i feel like I can actually be a part of the club!!
Beth wrote: "In the US: has anyone gotten into the OverDrive Library I absolutely love it. You need a library card and then you have access to free e-books and audio book downloads. Check it out. <3"YES!!! OverDrive is amazing! I was 38th on the wait list for a hard copy of the book, but I headed over to my library's OverDrive app, and I was 2nd in line for the e-book version!!
I would be glad to send my copy of "my life on the road" (english, hardcover edition ) when im finish with it (around a week or so) to someone who cant get it due to some reasons. Im affraid its too late to read it in time , but if someone just want to have it please contact me. Preferably Europe. I also have couple of audiobooks in dropbox: "A Universe from Nothing - Why There Is Something Rather Than Nothing" by Lawrence Krauss and "God Is Not Great" by Christopher Hitchens. Both read by authors. If someone would like to have it send me a message ill give you a link to it.
Is there anyone with whom i could exchange/borrow/gift books with? Like I want to read MY LIFE ON THE ROAD, and I could send a book in exchange with someone. Anyone? Please!I'm in Romania.
For the next book (if I can get it in time once it's announced) I'd be willing to scan a few chapters each week and put them on my dropbox. :) Shouldn't be a problem with copyright as we do this with Uni books all the time.

I would be really grateful. I´m trying to get a copy here in Mexico but it says that shipping would take over 15 days :(.
Those of you in the outside-the-USA community might also be interested in Bookcrossing since it is an international community of people who enjoy sending their books all over the world. There is a forum in which you can post a desire for a particular book, and if someone has it, there is a good chance they will send it to you. Bookcrossing is especially popular in Germany, UK, the Netherlands, all over Scandinavia, Australia, UK, USA, and Canada.
Laura wrote: "Daniela wrote: "For the next book (if I can get it in time once it's announced) I'd be willing to scan a few chapters each week and put them on my dropbox. :) Shouldn't be a problem with copyright ..."I will get it tomorrow or Saturday. I'll scan the first chapter or more (depending on how much time I got) and put the dropbox link in here :)
Hi, if anyone's interested, I have some books I'm parting with. Just have a look at my shelf 'for-sale'.I'm interested in exchanging or selling. I live in Belgium, so I can send all over Europe, and I will be travelling to the US in May.
Have a nice day everyone!
