I am the captain of Team 1.As I understand the rules, when a letter is called, we read a book that fits it. Do we write a review for it like we did with Bingo? I'm just checking....

OK I see letter is S and it says female character does that mean title with S and has to have a female character with S in the name

The title of the book can begin with any letter. The MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER must have at least one of her names (first, middle, and/or last name) begin with S.

No. The only way to score extra points would be if the character had more than one name beginning with S. If the author Sarah Sundin wasn't an author but instead the main female character of a book, her name would be worth 2 points. It would even be possible to get three points if a character had three names that started with S - though that would be hard to find! Remember, it doesn't have to be the main female character's first name, it could be her last name that begins with S and it would be worth a point. Hope that explains it better. :)
I'll be the captain for Team 4. We do not have a name yet.
On the slim chance that there's enough time to find, read and review two books per category - is that allowed?

Megan, can each person in the group read a different book to get at least three points or do all three have to read the same book?

Each person's book is counted separately, so you may have one person reading a book worth 1 point and another one worth 2 or 3. All points earned get added together and that's the team's score.
What is the trick for the spreadsheet? I'm used to working with Excel so not familiar with the Google doc. Shae01 and I both tried to enter a "1" under her name for week one and it isn't taking. Thanks for your help.

Oh, sorry but I'm the only one that can edit it. The captain just had to double check it to make sure it's correct. I'll try to add points as soon as they happen, but they'll definitely be added when the next letter and category is called (I'll always go through and add ones I missed).
I saw that Shae01 said she finished her book, but she didn't leave a review. A review is required. It doesn't have to be long, just a few lines of your thoughts on the book and whether or not you'd recommend it.

You can, but I check the threads usually at least once a day and will definitely check them the day of the deadline.
For animal, does it have to be a real animal (ie horse, cat, dog, etc) or could it by mythical (ie phoenix, pygmy puff, unicorn, etc)? Yes, I've got a specific mythical one in mind.

As long as it's an animal, as the examples you gave, I say yes. :)

An actual ape house would definitely work since there would be apes in it, so if that's what you mean yes. :)

So this means you have to read a book that has an animal in it that begins with the letter A. So either the animal's given name (such as Annie) or classification (the type of animal it is, such as alligator) will begin with A.

OK I guess I need a little help in this. we need a book starting with N in the title and or author and a color in the title and the author name also?

No. You just need to find a book that has a color that begins with N (like navy or neon green) in the title, author's name, character's name, or the book cover itself. So, if you find a book that has that color on the cover it counts.
if you find more then one color in that book we get more points correct?

No, only one color counts. I have a feeling this week everyone will only get one point :(
