After a book is read, you need to either leave a direct link to your review or post the entire review in your team's thread. Using a Goodreads link will include all other necessary details (date started, date finished, and rating), otherwise those will need to be added to your review post in your team's thread.

Danie, your name wasn't on the list because I didn't update it yet. It's not mandatory that you participate, but you are more than welcome to join - the more the merrier! :)

Normally we like it to be random, but we can make an exception for this case :)

That's too bad, but I completely understand. Hope to see you in future challenges :)

Every other week, alternating between Monday and Thursday, a category and letter will be randomly selected.
This would give 10 days for one category and 11 for the next. After a category is called, I will also list the date the next one is scheduled to be called.
Players then have to find a book that works for the chosen letter and category.
If all players on a team finish their books before the deadline (11:59 pm Pacific Time on the day the next category is called), the team will earn 1 bonus point. If at least half of the team has finished their books, the team will earn 1/2 bonus point. To receive bonus points for the final category, the team's books must be finished by July 7th, 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
Not all letters will be used, but once a letter is chosen, it will be removed from the list and will not be used again.
The game will conclude after six categories have been called. The team with the most points wins! If at the end there is a tie, the team that finished their books first will be declared the winner!
Book Requirements:
❀Must be 150+ pages.
❀May be read in any format (print, ebook, audio, etc.).
❀While Christian is preferred, all genres are allowed.
❀You may reread a book for the challenge, it's not preferred but it is allowed. The book must be read in it's entirety, not just skimmed. You may not however reread a book that you used already for this challenge.
❀All books used for the challenge MUST be started AFTER the category is called. If you realize a book you've already started before the category would be a perfect fit for the challenge, you may restart it and then it will count - but only if you restart it.
The letters: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T, and W
Categories
Detailed information for each category can be found under the spoiler next to the category.
1. Title (view spoiler)[
As shown in the example above, the title category must have a word beginning with the chosen letter ANYWHERE in the title. The words "A", "AN", "AND", or "THE" do NOT count towards points.
If more than one of the words begin with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each word beginning with the letter).
(hide spoiler)]
2. Main Female Character (view spoiler)[
The heroine of the story. The name found on the back cover (synopsis). If the story happens to be about two or more women, and they get equal time in the story, then any of the names would work - but only one character's name.
If more than one of the her names (first, middle, and/or last) begin with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each name beginning with the letter).
(hide spoiler)]
3. Main Male Character (view spoiler)[
The hero of the story. The name found on the back cover (synopsis). If the story happens to be about two or more men, and they get equal time in the story, then any of the names would work - but only one character's name.
If more than one of his names (first, middle, and/or last) begin with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each name beginning with the letter).
(hide spoiler)]
4. Secondary Female character (view spoiler)[
This would be any female character who is not one of the leads in the story. She might be mentioned only once in the story, but that would still count.
If more than one of the her names (first, middle, and/or last) begin with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each name beginning with the letter).
(hide spoiler)]
5. Secondary Male Character (view spoiler)[
This would be any male character who is not one of the leads in the story. He might be mentioned only once in the story, but that would still count.
If more than one of his names (first, middle, and/or last) begin with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each name beginning with the letter).
(hide spoiler)]
6. Author (view spoiler)[
The author's name must begin with the chosen letter. The author's first, middle, or last name may be used. If the author has more than one name beginning with the chosen letter, it will be worth more points (1 point for each name beginning with the letter).
Author names MUST be the names found on the book. It doesn't matter if someone's middle name is the same letter, if they don't use it professionally.
(hide spoiler)]
7. Location (view spoiler)[
The geographical place where the story is set. If the story takes place in more than one location, any could be used.
(hide spoiler)]
8. Animal (view spoiler)[
Any pet or animal in the story - either their given name or animal classification.
Example:
The letter called for this is Z (again not one that will actually be used), you could read:
A book that has an animal named Zoe (PET'S GIVEN NAME)
A book with a zebra in it (ANIMAL CLASSIFICATION)
If by chance there's a book with a zebra called Zoe, it would still only be worth one point unless the animal was called Zoe the Zebra in the story at least once.
(hide spoiler)]
9. Main Character's Occupation (view spoiler)[
One of the main character's occupation.
(hide spoiler)]
10. Color (view spoiler)[
This can be found in the title, author's name, character's name, or the book cover itself.
(hide spoiler)]
11. Adjectives (view spoiler)[
Definition of ADJECTIVE:
"a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it."
All words beginning with the chosen letter and that describe the same thing in the title will be counted.
Example:
Say Q is the letter chosen, you could read "The Quick and Quirky Quilt" and it would be worth 2 points - one for "quick" and one for "quirky", "quilt" is what is being described so it wouldn't count.
(hide spoiler)]
12. Goodreads Shelf (view spoiler)[
Find a shelf that has the word(s) beginning with the chosen letter somewhere in the title of the shelf. It can be anyone's shelf (EXCEPT your own or your teammates); just be sure to leave a link and, if there's more than one page to the shelf, the page number.
(hide spoiler)]
Signups will close on May 1st. Teams will be created shortly thereafter and the first category will be called on May 5th.
