I noticed that the Introductions Folder only had one lonely topic, and this idea hit me right quick.

Please introduce us to one of your lovely characters! I will start.

Name: Anders Matthewson
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Class: Night Ranger (Ranged Style)
Colour: Green
Quote: "Oh biscuits!"

Description: Friendly and helpful, Anders is brand new to playing MMORPGs. He tends to get himself into all sorts of trouble, but he has a way of winning in the end.
Despite the situations he often finds himself in Anders refuses to break his personal moral code on foul language, and instead swears by saying the names of random baked goods.

Joe Jackson (shoelessauthor) Name: Karian Vanador
Race: Terra-Dracon
Gender: Female
Profession: Demonhunter
Rank: Shield of the Heavens
Age: 35
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 207#
Quote: "Karian Vanador, Shield of the Heavens, by Zalkar's Grace"

Though she died of Dracon's Bane in the year 2876, Kari found herself resurrected - against her will - in the year 3050 to fight in the Apocalypse. With the War now behind her, Kari has picked up her demonhunting career where she left off, and now seeks to find out if there was a more specific reason for her resurrection...

Good idea C.B. I like the concept.

Name: Nord
Race: Halfelf-celestial
Gender: Male
Class: Fighter
Color: Pale as the moon with silver hair
Quote: "I hate fairies!"

Description: Over seven feet tall, and way too good looking for his own good. A reluctant leader of elves and men, hellbent on helping his nephew avenge their people. From the Breath of the Titans trilogy

I like this thread already!

W: And I did it all for a joke in book 2. ;)

Joe: Karian sounds like a total badass. Rank: Shield of the Heavens. Like, what? Awesome. That's what. Someone Anders would really admire.

Riley: Nord sounds great. I love how unlike the quote is compared to what you would expect the character to be like. Someone Anders would really have a crush on.

Human
Female
An erstwhile Second Lieutenant of the Democratic Unity Forces for Security (DUFS), now disgraced and sent into the outlands to repair the mess she made. No trouble swearing even without the use of baked goods.
Middle-aged at seventeen, it is now unlikely she will be able to regain her status before she is forcibly retired at 40 years. All she might look forward to is leading a platoon of "zombies" until the end of her days.
Appearance: Athletic, recruit-short black hair, blue eyes and a smattering of freckles. A woman's mark tattoo, showing her success in the outlands in helping raise a child to 4 months of age, around her right nipple.
Quote: "Flecking senile old bagman, you're going to be drooling within the day."

Because the Introductions folder is for new members to introduce themselves. But, this is a fun idea, so I moved it to the fun folder!

And I'd like to introduce Byron Berger.

I have hundreds of characters I could introduce, but I'll talk about Byron. Byron is one of two known assistant managers at Happy Clown Burger #3209 in Snokalamatee, Wisconsin. He's a pasty, tired-looking little man with ginger hair and a crooked smile.

Byron probably holds a higher position in Happy Clown Burger than he deserves, but a lower one than he feels entitled to.

Byron is a no nonsense kind of boss. He believes himself to be on top of everything, but doesn't seem to notice that no one really likes him much.

Aside from pushing subordinates around and trying to kiss ass with his boss, Erin, Byron also enjoys creating and testing new burgers in the hopes that he will become a darling in the eyes of corporate. So far, they are not impressed. But, Byron will carry on...

There was a 98% chance of that happening. I was pretty much expecting this to get moved. ^-^

This would seem to suggest there are unknown assistant managers lurking about...

I bet that keeps the employees on their toes.

From my latest book, To Summon The Blackbird:
Lord Rogart Brinkle, head of the Science Facility inside the Palace; an intimidating figure because of his intelligence and intuition. Can always be counted on for his sage advice on personal matters, and most especially, his confidentiality.
His shock of unruly red hair has dimmed only slightly with age, and shows no gray at all, but his shapeless wrinkle of chins and the crinkles around his eyes show his age. His voice has a distinct lilt, each word scrupulously enunciated and given its own emphasis in a mesmerizing rhythm somewhat similar to a professional announcer who has begun to ramble through obscure references and alliterations—with the exception that few alliterations can actually be identified. He always wears the same robe, a faded tan, with violet trimming of some kind, likely a remnant from some ceremony he attended years ago.

Joe wrote: "This would seem to suggest there are unknown assistant managers lurking about..."

Ha ha! Possibly... but what I was more referring to was that Happy Clown Burger is (at this point) a series of books, each book containing 16-17 fast fiction stories. (Each story is exactly 1,000 words long). All of the stories are about the same Happy Clown restaurant, but I give no indication as to when these stories take place, the order they take place, how many people work there, etc. So far, Byron and Tina are the only assistant managers that have been mentioned in stories.

But… the idea of a secret assistant manager lurking in the kitchen somewhere could make for a great story!

While others may think I am crazy to believe the stories, I personally have always believed that Mildred, the night-shift manager, is real.

I love this idea!
May I introduce the protagonist of Dancing With The Dead, Fahd al-Sharfa:
A brilliant astrophysicist, taken as a boy genius from his tribe in the Mahrat mountains of Yemen by the terrorist group, Ahmar Saif, the Red Sword of Vengeance, and trained for twelve years for a suicide mission on Luna. Fahd al-Sharfa’s entire life has been about becoming a shahid, a “martyr for truth.” But what is truth?
When the five-foot-six Fahd falls in love with just the wrong person, Doctor Quenby, his Antal coworker, a seven-foot-tall, cat-like, bipedal alien, whom he is now about to kill, he realizes he must choose between love and duty. Ahmar Saif gave a huge amount of gold to Fahd’s clan in exchange for the boy. Fahd is bound by Mahra honor to carry out his suicide mission. And honor is everything to the Mahra. Fahd knows if he dishonors the clan and does not go through with his mission to destroy Luna City and the two space stations, Ahmar Saif will kill him and his entire clan. But for the first time in his life, he has found unconditional love.
Quote: “For me, to live is to die.”

message 16: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Name: Hubert (But no one know that. Just call me Bogie)
Race: Discordant-lesser demon (except not lesser where it counts... Ladies...)
Physical Description: Imagine if Howie Mandel and Steve Buscemi had a love child and that child had the complexion of Hellboy and the fashion sense of 90s band Smash Mouth.
Occupation: Bartender (and general pain in the hiney for a certain crabby pants Warrior)

Description: So bad at being a demon, even a lesser demon, Bogie has been kicked out of his home realm of Chaos. He's further humiliated when he's bound to a dive bar in a defunct midwestern town by the same Warrior who was responsible getting him banished from the realm in the first place. But despite his shortcomings, he manages to snag a hot witch girlfriend, play the hero on several occasions, and hold the distinction of being most readers' favorite character.

Name: Felixen Vaaron
Race: Feniel
Gender: Female
Class: Hooker/Stripper/Rogue
Colour: Violet
Quote: "He only did those things to us because he loved us!"

Description: Felixen is jaded and broken, having suffered years of abuse at the hands of her father, before he sold her into slavery to the brothel where she first met Mersi. She has serious issues creating any sort of meaningful relationship with either gender, mostly due to her apathetic stance towards anyone other than herself, or her brother. She is jealous, bitter, spiteful, willful, devious, and headstrong to a fault with violent tendencies. Despite all of this, she is still one of the most beautiful women Mersi has ever seen, and they are to each other, the one person that they can each turn to when they need someone for emotionally intimate reasons, which leads to a co-dependent relationship of enabling vices.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Whoops. Bogie can be found in most of the Rise of the Discordant series, beginning with Past Life Strife.

And adding a quote:
Even when I wasn’t runnin’ my tookus off and tryin’ to keep up with the amount of cheap domestic these cretins guzzled, it was slim pickins for a man of my refined tastes. Seemed to me like this town’s primary export was sausage, if ya get my meaning.

Melissa Jensen (kdragon) | 469 comments Oooh, fun.

Name: Issachar
Race: Dragon (mostly in human form)
Gender: Male
Class: Mouthy little turkey
Color: Green. As a human, dark haired, green eyed, and skinny as a twig.
Quote: "Bunch of numpties"

Poor, poor Issachar. He was once a happy-go-lucky dragon, then he just had to go and be all nice to some lost numpty in the woods - a prince of all things, just looking for his younger brother. But brother dear wasn't too happy about being looked for, and was even less happy about his older brother getting some help. So he tricked poor Issachar, captured him, and let the queen torture him. And if that wasn't bad enough, try ending up chained and forgotten for two hundred years. It gives you some serious trust issues, that's for sure. But then comes this lady by the name of Adeline, a forced-into-retriement sorceress worth her salt and her word. Issachar may try her with his obstinance and penchant for mouthing off, but deep down she's like a second mother to him, and he's like a son to her.

Tony Skye (tonycskye) | 90 comments Name: Julianna Cora Atwood
Race: Female
Height: 5' 6"
Hair: Long, wavy black hair. Side bangs are a natural red.
Eyes: Green; until, she allows demons to pass through her. The green mixes with the swirling of the black of night.
Weapon of choice: .09 mm Beretta. Left-handed, but learning to use right. At this point, however, she looks like a mad lady shooting at a flock of geese while using her right hand. Gun holster is made of lace straps around the waist and high thigh for easy access to the gun(s) positioned against her lower back.
Backup weaponry: Is telekinetic due to her connection to the Place of the Dead.
Favorite tee: Black shirt with words printed on front: I like them, too!
Attributes: Tech savvy and refuses to be pushed around. Well, being pushed around depends on the situation . She enjoys mocking demons and angels alike, she is not picky.
Quote: "Silly boy."

Julianna has a few dark secrets: She enjoys being spanked and the occasional snap of the whip. If that isn't enough, she could be the possible future mother of the Antichrist.

Books: Mother of Darkwaters and Blurry Lines.

Iffix Santaph | 324 comments Some really creative characters here. Kind of curious to look more into The Villas. W.G.S., If you'd be up to review swapping, let me know.

I would suppose it is time to introduce one of the main characters in my series:

Name: Toby Fairweather
Gender: Male
Species: Gwalf
Color: Naturally brown fur, though often oily black.
Age: 11 (gwalfling)
Occupation: Ferry mechanic, dreams of being a pirate someday.
Superpower: Tech Savant, with an affinity for alien tech.
Alignment: Anti-hero, leaning subtly toward good.
Quote: "Don’t worry, if I ever wind up in prison, I’ll just pick the lock."

Toby is very devious, a very typical little brother, genuinely cheerful, most of the time.

Name: Amber (goes by Clam)
Gender: female
Species: bear shifter
Color: brown skin, but with black bear arms when shifted
Talent: talking people over to her side
Quote: "No worries. At that point, I'll already be arrested."

Clam hates the desert, where she was dragged by her uncles after the death of her parents. She has grand plans and is not afraid to jump into anything. She's never disheartened for long but finds another idea to try again.

Owen O'Neill (owen_r_oneill) | 1509 comments Thanks for starting this thread C.B! I'll play:

Permit me to introduce Trin Wesselby.
Citizenship: Terran
Gender: Female
Profession: Navel Officer
Rank: Captain
Height: 5’2”
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Pale Gray
Age: Pushing 60
Quote: “Nikolai, have you any remaining taint of civilization?”

A career intelligence officer, Trin cultivates a quiet and bookish demeanor. However, this does not fool everyone: a fellow officer has described her as being “as bookish as a bayonet.” She is an expert at interrogation, able to peel a mind faster than you can peel an orange. Intensely private, she has had no known relationships with people of any gender, and has few friends. Those friends she does have, she is extremely loyal to.

The early parts her career are obscure. She has never been seen to lose her temper. Known for her acerbic wit. Has a secret fondness for Buffalo wings. Not someone you want to get on the wrong side of.

Trin appears in each book of the Loralynn Kennakris series.

Gender: Female (though some have been known to dispute this)

Chalwen is short, heavily overweight, with dark skin and a rough face contrasting her ever-immaculate uniform. Promoted from obscurity to Chief of Security during a time of turmoil, her main qualification for the job was an ability sidestep Palace politics and stay alive.

Characteristics: Disciplined, loyal, ruthless, with a short and violent temper and a fondness for gardening.
