No, It's not, it's a Japanese light novel about love, a little bit depressing. :)
They made an anime movie from the novel, very famous actually. The title 5 Centimeters Per Second comes from the speed at which cherry blossoms petals fall, petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate ways.

Slow start, but I wanted to tick off a book from the 1001 list, and this has been on there for a while. Didn't whole heartedly love it. Too many dream sequences, and questioning what is real and not (in the novel.) And strangely many many characters with the same name!
