Query for Variations for other than P&P

I wasnt sure where else to post this question.

I'm looking around for more variations etc for emma , Mansfield park and persuasion. I find alot of p and p related stories. Does Anyone have suggestions they want to recommend or where I can find more? (reading the subsequent proposal is making me want to read more books related to persuasion. )

I've been a little afraid to pose this question, but I need some guidance. So, here it goes. Can someone recommend JAFF that is not too racy? Most people would call me a prude, and that's okay with me. Part of the appeal of JA for me is the romance without the lust. I just read Unleashing Mr. Darcy which really only had one sex scene, but the entire story was clouded with lust. I know many people would find that book tame. So, you can see my dilemma. I'm actually excited that Hallmark will probably tone it down for the movie. Then, it will probably be more of the story I'd like to watch or read. I've also read Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict which does include some sex, but it didn't take over the entire story. I usually read reviews and do the opposite. If people didn't like it, I think I will, and if they did like it, I tread lightly. So, could you please help me and don't judge me too harshly?

If you're wanting something that's not too racy, try any of the following authors: J. Dawn King, Jennifer Joy or Jeanna Ellsworth. There are many others, of course but they're the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

I’m with you totally, Laura. For me, adding sex to a romance book is a violation of genre boundaries. If I want to read a sexy book, I want it to be sexy! And if I want to read a romance, I want it to be about misunderstandings and personal ethics and compatibility of mind.

If you don’t need Austen characters, you can’t do better than to read Georgette Heyer’s Regency period romances. Among period Austen retellings, Pamela Aidan’s trilogy told from Darcy’s point of view (especially the first and third books, An Assembly Such as This and These Three Remain; you can skip the second one) keep the line. Karalynne MacRory’s Haunting Mr. Darcy - A Spirited Courtship skates close to the line but doesn’t overdo it. As for modern retellings: I don’t normally do this, but my own modern-day Austenesque was castigated by one reader as reading like a Hallmark story—it’s a challenge to tell a contemporary Austen story without sex! (It does have some very modern politics in it, though, which offend some readers.) There are also contemporary Amish retellings that avoid sex, though I haven’t read any of them.

Are you in the Clean Romances group on Goodreads? You could probably find some options on their bookshelves.
