I read this probably 3 or so years ago as an ebook. I think the main hero was some sort of vampire with mind powers, super strong as they often are :). This was the 2nd book in the series I believe and the main girl character started with an A maybe? Anyways, she was trying to help him out or do something innocent or was keeping a secret from his enemies and he didn't believe her, and he basically forced her to remember some bad memories because he didn't believe her. I wish I could remember more about the series. She was so upset by the mind rape that she left - I think that might have been the end of that book because I cannot remember what happened next. I am pretty sure she was a fighter type but not a vampire. She was a loner, maybe an orphan, her early years were bad from what I can vaguely remember.

Just thought I'd bump this one from a month ago. I could be getting two books mixed together. The only other things I can think of - she may have been a prostitute at some time when she was younger. Any suggestions might help, the main guy in the book may not be a vampire, but it seems he was some sort of powerful being.

Thanks, I will let you know!!Lobstergirl, I can't remember for sure, but 90% of the stuff I read ends up being by female authors (mainly I read romance or urban fantasy, sci fi, etc.). This definitely had that UF feel.
