Elizabeth (persephone17) Hello! This is one of the pages for the 2016 PopSugar reading challenge, especially for the pick, 'A book from the library'. Post what you're reading for this one down below, and discuss with others, share your thoughts on your pick, give suggestions for others, etc.

Elizabeth (persephone17) I picked Sabriel for this one and wasn't disappointed. I went into Sabriel thinking it was your typical YA fantasy, such as the Alanna series and boy was I surprised. However, I think the elements Nix weaves together really work - having a magical world parallel to the regular one, having the mages fight with bells and song instead of traditional magic, and not pacing the story slowly. This book moved QUICKLY - but it really helped advance the story. Some fantasy can ramble on, which I enjoy in most cases, but the quick pace of this story really drew me in.

Christa (lessthn3) | 90 comments I finally went and got my library card! I picked up Grave Mercy (in addition to 4 others because they only let me get 5 for my first day :P). I loved the book so much that now I want my own copy, and the rest of the series!
