Spot 83

Vision in Silver (The Others #3) by Anne Bishop
Rating: 3,75 Stars
Date read: 3/30/16
Third book in The Others series was maybe my least favorite so far. Not much happened in terms of action. But on the other hand this slow pace and totally different way of telling the story with unprecedentedly original world building are the things that make this series so original and fascinating.
I was hoping a little development in relations between Meg and Simon but it's still mystery if there will be any romance at all. I was a little stricken by Meg's degeneration in coping with outside stimulis because it wasn't that big of an issue for her before. Felt like it had to be written in in order to justify events with other cassandra sangue girls. I would have loved to read more about their progress as well.
It's a fine line balancing the relations between The Others and Humans but this third book had too much politics and too little action.

Week 11 Spot 83
Book: Royal's Child by Sharon Sala.
Date Read: 3/31/16
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Theme: Book 3 of The Justice Way
Review:
The last book of the series, but I was a bit disappointed. I wanted more romance between Royal and Angel. Also I was not real happy with Royal referring to angel as Girl. I don't consider it a term of endearment, he used it for his daughter, Maddie. Maybe I am missing a reference or something. But overall, I loved Maddie and her family. It was a quick read.

How Fits : LGBT
Review : I really enjoyed this book....I've not read anything by this author before, but have heard lots of good things. I picked up the book because i needed an LGBT book with with a black cover featuring vampires! Perfect! I found this book good, but not great. It could have used a little sexy time ( i was expecting a bit more erotic behavior from the vampires!)...and at times it made me really sad...in seeing how because of the HVV patients were treated, it makes me think about how things were in the early days of HIV patients...how people were scared of the unknown and overreacted. I do plan to rwad more by the author.

Review: Review a good story set in the Tucker Springs series that I read every few month and as It fit another challenge I just went with this book. Denver Rogers is a bouncer who has a learning difficulty yet is smarter than he thinks he is and Adam Ellery suffers from OCD and Anxiety disorder. The opening scene in the Laundromat set the humor in this story that I love and my favorite secondary character is in this book Louisa the trans (mtf) student taking gender studies who befriends Adam is such a great character.
