I really enjoyed this book. I've had a soft spot for Ethan since the beginning and I was so glad to finally get his and Calvin's story. These two are so cute together. I would've loved to have gotten more into the kink that was mentioned (but I love me some kinky, so no surprise there!), but what we got in the way of sexy times was pretty good still. I enjoyed the overall story and the way this team is with each other. They are so playful with each other. Made me smile so much. They are also extremely supportive and protective of each other. I love the way they all pull together.
I enjoyed the little bits of Seb and Hudson we got and I am eagerly awaiting their book, since I love a well done second chance story. Rafe was still a dick, but I understood a bit of his attitude with what is going on with him. Didn't excuse it entirely...but maybe got him a little slack.
And the big thing for me....that fucking ending!!!!!!! I mean, come on. I absolutely hate cliffhangers and this was a whopper. And for it to be Dex, my quirky, funny, most favorite agent ever...well that was just totally mean! *huff*
Needless to say, I am going to be dying until book 7 comes out.

Hey Dora,

I know you end up waiting for me to post on Friday's and most likely I am the last to post, if it is easier, I can just roll when I post my review in the future. Fridays are usually more of a freer day for me in terms of work and school.

Pucked (Pucked, #1) by Helena Hunting

4 stars

Hockey players are the new IT heroes in sports romance. I've read many books lately featuring hot hockey playing alpha males. Usually they are big teddy bears with golden heart and excellent boyfriends to their woman.
So is Alex Waters. He is sweet, attentive boyfriend and sooo sexy. He deserves much better than a whining and mistrustful Violet who cares only about his skills in bed, doesn't listen to reason and is prepared to believe the worst of her boyfriend. I don't like heroines who just take off without listening and clearing out silly misunderstandings. So, understandably Violet is not my favorite character. I didn't find her especially funny or lovable either.

All in all a good, entertaining sports romance. Not the best among all the hockey romances out there but still a decent read.

A Floating City by Jules Verne
Date Read: 10.3.2016
Rating: 3 stars
Review: The narrator describes his journey on the Great-Eastern and later his visit to New York and Niagara falls. If it weren't for the backstory with the love-triangle involved, it would've been pretty boring. The book was published for the first time in 1871, so it has a value for some historian with its descriptions of New York avenues and the construction of the ship and its machine.

This book was going along swimmingly, I always wanted to read Calvin and Hobbs story, from book 1 and I haven't read 2 thru 5 yet. the couple were sweet and the action and madcap situation was perking for me. then the Last scene Dex Kidnapped by the people responsible for his parents' murders. grr I hate a cliffhanger like that. setting up for the next book in the series is one thing but a cliffhanger ending is a surefire way to make me drop the rating down. And I have a soft spot for Dex with his take on the world craziness. not a way to please me. I probably would have gotten around to seven without the cliffhanger but now I might be sucked into purchasing it when I don't have the appropriate amount of discretionary money to spend on it. I can see that coming out as a borrow request. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brendon (Alluring Indulgence, #8) by Nicole Edwards
Date Read : 3/11/2016
Rating :★★★★
How Fits : #8 in series

Review : I finally got to this book after planning to read it for a while. I enjoyed getting to better know Brendon Walker, who has realized in the previous books of the series how he felt about Cheyenne Montgomery. There are times when the author's work seems a bit redundant, but I didn't feel that with this book.

What i do love about certain series authors, and Nicole Edwards does this well, is to link the various series books together! When reading this one, I saw references to her other books...something that if you weren't a fan may have easily slipped through, but having read most of her other books I was able to see this.

I'm finally caught up in this series, and am looking forward to the next book in the series (or what appears to have renamed into a new series) Curtis which comes out next week.

Book: Just Good Friends by Rosalind James.
Date Read: 3/10/16
Rating: 3 Stars
Theme: Sports

Review:
This was a good book, not great. I still expect more from the author even though she is still fairly new to me. So far my problem has been with the heroines in this book and the previous one because they really annoy me. But the hero wasn't so great in this one so it was doubly bad. The hero, Koti is a rugby player and he is very spoiled in the sense that things, women come very easily to him so he is a bit of a pain, but essentially a nice guy. The heroine, Kate has moved from California, to get away from a stalker and hoping he wouldn't find her, but there are times where she is lashing out again Koti that is a bit extreme and it happens one too many times. In the book, they call it fiesty, but I would definitely call it something else. I liked reading this book because I went to New Zealand back in September and I knew some of the places they were talking about. But I couldn't connect with both MC's. I am hoping her next book is better.

How it fits: Shelved as 2009 28 times (page 23 2009)

I love small town romances. They are usually cozy and sweet with nice atmosphere. "Talk Me Down" delivered just that feeling with some extra of great humor, well developed characters, little secrets and suspense giving just the edge needed for a great entertaining romance.
This was my first book by Victoria Dahl but I'm sure it won't be last! She has a good, fun and easy style of writing that works well for this type of category romance.

5 stars!!!
Loved, loved, loved this!!! Percival Whyborne has become one of my very favorite characters of all time. I just love him and Griffin together. I love where they have ended up and how in love they still are. There was even a little kink thrown in this time. ;)
The story was fun, though a tad predictable. The wonderful cast of secondary characters is back again. Christine, Iskander, and Persephone bring so much life to the story! I have hated Bradley since the beginning (as I'm sure most have), so I wasn't at all surprised with his role in things this time around. I had a very hard time with Whyborne's father though. Regardless of how heartfelt his desire to repair the relationship with his son, I don't think it is something Whyborne would get over quickly, if ever. His father did (and supported) a lot of absolutely horrific things through the years. I know that I would find it almost impossible to have a loving relationship with him after that.
I was so excited when I discovered that there is going to be a book 8. For some reason I had it in my head that this was the last one and it made me want to cry. I'm just not ready to say goodbye yet.
July just cannot come quickly enough!!!

Review: Kudos to Jules Verne for writing this! Most reviews I found under this book sounded pretty much like 'not scientificaly correct', 'missing today's knowledge' - just chill, people. The book is filled with theories and 'what if's', but most importantly we get to see what the scientists of 19th century knew abot the space and moon in general and Jules Verne was kind enough to share it with his readers.

I felt like i never really 'got' the MCs Atticus and Gin...something was missing for me with them. I usually dont want to put her books down but this one i was struggling to finish. Part of it could be the first 4 books of the series were read so long ago that i dont remember much of the supporting characters...but that shouldn't impact it this one as it has its own storyline. I'm a dog lover. Big time. Every book with good, fun dog character in it usually makes a story so much better. This time, although Joe the German Shepherd "puppy" was adorable and one of the best behaving dogs I've read about, he could not save the story for me.

At first, it looked promising and funny. To get over the heartbreak of her best friend marrying the man of her dreams, Savannah gets really drunk and accidentally buys a puppy online from Slovakia. This should have been the first warning. How drunk and stupid you have to be to buy a dog online?
It was hilarious first when instead a little puppy a much, much bigger dog arrived and reacted only to commands in Slovak but soon, sadly, he was left to background and the heroine started really bug me a lot.

At the beginning Savannah felt refreshing change to all the perfect romance heroines. She drank, swore, was lazy and sloppy but after all what she went through, I thought she'll pull it together eventually. No such luck. She continued to getting drunk, being messy and lazy. A lot. I'm not a prude, far from it, but seriously, this was a lot of drinking. As I'm personally against solving problems with sinking them into alcohol, it really started to irritate me. Then there was her love interest, Alex the Vet. Yeah, well, I got the impression that he was in this story because it was supposed to be a romance, so there should be a man for that. His character was very underdeveloped and boring. I could not actually picture them together without Joe being in the mix and that should say something about their chemistry.

Anyway, there are lot better romance stories for animal lovers out there. I could have read a book by Kristan Higgins instead of this mediocre romance. Still, I loved Joe and as always , he earned an extra star for this book!

So very dissapointed right now. I had a hard time getting into this story. I liked Owen and Daniel, both as a couple and individually. I even liked Ander and Rafe. Victor was a huge dick though. My biggest problem with the story was we don't actually get to see much happening. There are big time jumps and supposed drama that is all off-page. We got to see almost nothing of the filming of the show. There is brief mention of an eating disorder of Owens, but then it's not really dealt with other than random people asking him if he ate. The first sex scene was great. Then we basically get that same blowjob scene plopped into the story multiple times. I feel like the story could have used probably another 100 pages to fully flesh out all the characters and develop the several story lines going on. It was just way, way too scattered.

Review: Gave it a high rating because the book probably played a huge role back then in 60ies and even today, so I won't pul it outside of the historical context and then judge it. Otherwise I wasn't really fascinated by the story. But what I really found admirable is Lee's ability to pull her readers back in their childhoods - it looked so natural, children's point of view, their decisions and plays.

The only thing it is missing for me is one of the MC suffering from Amnesia. I love the funny part along with the serious times with these characters. Brian and Troy are great together whether taking their time growing to realize they are attracted to each other to just being survivor who both feel guilty for the accident because they survived and did things that weren't normal. Troy's family has to be met to be believed.

Review:
I am a fan of Amanda Quick and this was as usual a very fun read for me. The author tends to carry a similar theme in some of her books, but it still works so I can't really complain. This book reminded me of her other novel, Ravished. In this book, our heroine Imogene asks for help from Matthias who had owed a favor to her uncle to help nab a killer. Both of them share a love of antiquities, Matthias has actually found a lost civilization but Imogene concludes after he think her plan is simply unacceptable that he has delicate sensibilities. It is pretty funny how she kept bringing up his delicate sensibilities but then Matthias started using it to his own advantage. It had a suspenseful side, but it wasn't all about that but also the romance between the hero and heroine.
