THE ALTERNATES:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Hi! This is my favorite challenge so far. I have signed up for both SS and SSS so this will be interesting. I have played several times but prefer not to be captain. I will be more than glad to help.

We'll see if we have any eager people that want to captain. I haven't done this group challenge yet, but I've "captained" lots of others and could probably pick this one up pretty quickly with a little guidance from the seasoned veterans.

We'll see what the others want to do. I live on Goodreads, so it wouldn't put me out too much. Maybe we'll get lucky and get someone that's a seasoned veteran AND eager to be captain. Ha ha.

Looking forward to this one!

This is very easy to pick up, Kim. I don't mind helping at all as a co-captain or something. I do work from home, but right now my workload is pretty heavy right now. I am lucky that I get to listen to books while I'm working. So far, my four legged babies haven't complained!

Kim, If you are referring to a reading them, there isn't one. Mandy will roll the dice and depending on what she rolls will determine what we can read. There are also alternatives if you don't have a series for the rolled number or you want to read something else.

I don't think it matters who hits midnight first. It's on a countdown clock I think. It's midnight central time, so 1 am eastern, etc.

I'm in central time zone but I'm not sure I'm going to make it until midnight. Ha ha. Plus, I'm new at this and i don't want to be responsible for the very first roll until I get it all figured out.

I guess I'm unsure why we need to roll at midnight. Because people want to start reading then? Imma be asleep! Ha ha. We can roll at 8am as far as I'm concerned. Ha ha.

I'm west coast but two games ago I rolled and we never made it past 60s. I have cursed rolls =) It's the first roll got to at least do this one at midnight =)

So here's our first roll - 10. If I recall how this works correctly, we can either read the first book in a series or the 10th book in a series. Off to find my first read!

And my first choice is : The Return of Moriarty: Sherlock Holmes' Nemesis Lives Again by John Gardner, #1 in the Professor Moriarty series.

Okay, this one has been on my TBR for a while, so I'm going to bite the bullet. I'll be reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy #1 in series of same name, by Douglas Adams. They say you either love it or hate it. Wish me luck!

We can also read a stand alone since the roll was a 10. A stand alone works for 1 or 0.

We can also read the alternate: Color purple on the book cover.
