James Say if you didn't read the first book and you just straight into the second don't worry. Although I still recommend reading the first book. Throughout the book J.K Rowling does a fantastic job describing and really pointing out things from pass books. But the way she does this is so perfectly done. So what I want you to do is simply find some of the ways she describes Harry Potter and other things in the book. Come on you know you can find a lot of things. LET THE COMMENTS BEGIN!!

Melissa Kelly You're so right, I noticed this too. If you missed a book or forget certain references she does a great job of popping in little reminders. i.e. explaining what Quidditch is numerous times and mudbloods etc.

Kylie True. I actually first read the books completely out of order...starting with the third.

Najma But she did that only till the third book, you can follow even if you just know the story of the first three books but after that you have to read the books

brooke1994 My sister and I think it's a lot better to read the books in order. If you skip any in between, chances are you won't get as much meat out of it. Also, you get to see how much Harry, Ron, and Hermione grow in the Wizarding world, emotionally, and in their friendship.
