Home Front by Kristin Hannah and The Zookeepers Wife by Diane Ackerman were the two books chosen for January's meeting.. The Zookeeper's Wife, while interesting and filled with details might be met with more interest nearer the time that the movie is released. We will try again. Kristin Hannah's, Home Front was a solid story which gave readers the chance to dig in and think about the topics presented. First, there is marriage and the roles we accept in that union with regards to our careers and our marital responsibilities. Second, there is parenting which is one of the hottest topics in our lives, are we doing it right? Third, the issues a military family must face upon deployment, and Fourth, illustration of PTSD and how it has been viewed over the last 200 years of wars. The overall opinion is that this book was much enjoyed by members of the Book Club and will be recommended to friends. ck
