A Geek Girl's Guide to Arsenicby Julie Anne Lindsey
Qualification: 2 in a series
Finished: 03/12/16
Rating: 4/5 Stars
It is a funny and relaxing read, an entertaining mystery that I enjoyed from beginning to end. There is so much humor and a perfect mix of romance and mystery. The characters are really funny and lovable. Mia is smart, determined, stubborn, resourceful, courageous and her family is whimsical. Very intriguing the love story between Mia and Jake, a relationship of love and hate, constant bickering but a big attraction.
Mia helps her grandmother to manage her natural products store. One of their customer, after trying a hand cream, feels ill and dies in the store. It seems a simple heart attack instead he has been poisoned. The victim was under protection for testifying against a mobster. He was under the protection of Jake, the handsome boy who going away had broken Mia's heart. They both want to find out who is the culprit to save their reputation.

Good to know.

This book was in a word cute. Extremely predictable, but sometimes that is refreshing. Teenage rockstar hunter Kennedy gets a little crazy and it sent off to live in a small town in Colorado. Where he needs a bun wearing Viere , Who helps to transform him into a complete geek. I'm sure you can guess where this is going, and it does go there, but it is cute, and pretty much for the most part problem free. This was a easy read with a cute story although extremely predictable.

It was so fun to revisit this series and see all of the characters that I fell in love with. It made me really want to go back and re-read the series from the beginning. I loved Cat and Bones and I know reading them all again would be just as awesome as the first time. Seeing all of these deleted scenes was fun. To see what Jeaneine had first envisioned was really interesting. I also loved learning how she first approached writing the series and where the idea came from.
Reading all of the scenes and stories in this book really made me fall for Cat and Bones all over again. I’m so glad and thankful that Jeaniene put this together for us readers. It’s exactly what we needed since we won’t be getting any new Cat and Bones books…although we do get to see them in Vlad’s books. AND I’m still desperately hoping for an Ian book, someday maybe that’ll happen. Until then, I’ll just have to set up a Night Huntress re-read in the future.

This is the first book I've written by this author and I enjoyed it for the most part. I liked the characters even thought they are not really nice men seeing as they run drugs etc. but you know this going in and it's expected. I will give more by this author a try.

It was a pleasant trip to Ireland, a wonderful country that I love so much but I have not had the luck to visit. The setting of this story is truly amazing, a little, quiet and friendly town in County Cork. The author was very good at recreating the atmosphere of those magical places, even more realistic thanks to the use of Irish slang (there is a glossary that explains their meaning)
Siobhan has had a terrible year. She has left her dream to study at the University of Dublin to take care of the family bistro, after losing her parents in a car accident. She must also take care of her many younger siblings. Things get complicated when a man is found dead in her local and one of her brothers is accused of murder. Siobhan will have to investigate to save both her brother that her activity.
The story is really well written, unpredictable, with several twists. It was hard to put it down because from the first chapters I really wanted to know the ending. All the characters are well developed, even the secondary. I like O 'Sullivan family , despite occasionally quarrel they are very united and very willing to help each other. This was a truly engaging and delightful read that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

This was a very interesting book about a judge who is faced with some tough choices both in and outside the court. She has a husband who wants a open marriage after over 20 years of marriage, I think I tell the guy to hit the door, quickly! The main court case in this book is about a boy 17 years old who for religious reasons cannot have a blood transfusion in, should the court intervene, yes or no ?
Tomorrow is my book chat for this book, and I think it is going to be a very interesting and lively discussion. I always seem to like the book more or less after I leave, wonder what way it will go tomorrow?

Sarina Bowen is becoming an author that I will pick up any books she writes. I read her for the first time last year and whatever book I've read so far I've enjoyed and this one is no exception. I really liked the heroine. Some emotional parts to this story. I loved the end.

Sweet Haven by Shirlee McCoy
Home Sweet Home #1
Qualification: book 1 in a series
Finished: 03/19/16
Rating: 4/5 Stars
It 's a sweet and funny romance, set in a peaceful town in Washington state, in which chocolate is one of the protagonists.
Addie still lives in the small town where she was born, working as an accountant and she is single. Once she was almost about to get married but then he broke her heart and she decided not to suffer more. She likes her monotonous and peaceful life. But when her grandfather is hospitalized, her life becomes very chaotic and stressful. She must manage his chocolate shop, Chocolate Haven, and she hates chocolate. She should also lose a few pounds to get into a hideous bridesmaid dress. To say nothing of the handsome guy, Sinclair, who has rented for a few weeks her grandfather's apartment, just above the shop. He's really arrogant and grumpy. But some strange events approach them ....
The characters are very realistic with whom it is easy to empathize. Addie and Sinclair are very different, she enjoys her simple life in Benevolence. Sinclair, instead, has never loved his city, soon as he could he had enrolled and never came back. Now he comes back to help his brother to restore their grandfather's house but he can't wait to go away again. They are both willing to make huge sacrifices to help their family. After the first clashes, their relationship evolves and becomes really amazing.
I like Benevolence, a quiet community with some bizarre inhabitants, where gossip travels at the speed of light and in which a mother is informed to the hairdresser when her daughter made her last cut. It's a funny and heart-warming book, with an aura of mystery and a cute little dog that combines so many trouble.

Ella Frank has done it again. I absolutely loved Daniel Finley and Brantley Hayes together. So freaking hot. And I loved their past and how things played out between them. I dare say I liked them better than Logan and Tate even. Finn is cocky and demanding and I loved the way he turned the tables on his former professor. This is a definite must read for anyone who enjoys m/m.

I think if they didn't try to the market this book as the next Gone Girl, people might have received it better. I truly think the only similarity is they both have a female MC. Tiffany or whatever you want to call her, went through a major tragedy when she was a teenager. This kind of explain why she was kind of a major B*****, It was her way of coping. I don't even think there were all that many twists in this book, it was just like things were slowly revealed. I loved GG, but I also really like this book, I just believe it wasn't correctly marketed.

No worries, I woke a bit later and then too tired to update everything a roll. So only now doing it.

This is the final book in the Cole McGinnis series and before starting there was a bit of sadness as I have loved this series, but also was looking forward to seeing how Ford ended the series. I must say that the author delivered. I loved this one. Watching Cole and Jae's relationship develop over the books and to see how great they are together. There was plenty of humour, action, mystery and we get some answers to questions that have been unanswered before now.

Laces and Lace by Toni Aleo
Qualifications: Book 6 in a series
Finished: 3/21/16
Rating: 3.5 Stars
I’ve really enjoyed the Assassins series. I love sports romances and Toni Aleo has done a great job creating a sexy, fun series filled with characters that I adore. It took me a while to find the time to read Laces and Lace, but I’m glad I finally did. While it’s not my favorite of the series, I absolutely loved Karson and his family. He’s definitely swoonworthy and completely wrong about the fact that he doesn’t deserve him. He’s such a good man and so good to her, despite how he let things end when they were together the first time. Karson made the book…well Karson and then his friend JT (who I cannot wait to read about in Overtime).
What nearly killed this book for me was Lacey. She made me mad so many times I wanted to punch her in the face. I wanted to hopefully knock some sense into her. Although, I can’t fault her for wanting to see the best in those around her, she was ridiculously naïve and way too trusting, even if the people trying to hurt her were her family members. I was furious with her for treating Karson the way she did.
If I wanted to punch Lacey, I wanted to do so much more to her dad and her best friend/sister-in-law. Thank goodness for her brother Grady who pulled his head out and really saw what was happening before it was too late.
I will definitely continue on with this series, I just hope the ladies moving forward are not as slapable as Lacey. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’m really going to like the next one, so I’m looking forward to that.

This book is amazing and I loved every page. It will grab my attention from the beginning and hold it through to the end. The plot is very intriguing, well-developed, full of suspense.
The protagonist Dr Thomas Silkstone is an anatomist, he makes autopsies and investigates to solve murder cases. This time the case is very complicated, many as four murders are committed. Everything seems to be connected to a map and a diamond.
It 's a historical mystery really charming, interesting, with so many cases to solve. It's really very well written and I also love the use of archaic terms, it was fun to discover their meaning.

WOW !!! I love this book, more than I expected to, and I'm not sure why, because I've already finished the Alpha and omega series and loved it. Actually I didn't finish the series, because there are more books to come, right???
Anyways, Mercy is amazing! Love her! I love learning about everyone in the book vampires, werewolves, and everything else. I love learning their gifts, their powers, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Definitely can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I've been putting this book off for a long time and I'm mad at myself for doing that. Although, with the way this book ends, I'm glad I at least waited until book 2 was out. I read them both back to back because I couldn't wait to find out what the heck was happening. There is a crazy mystery in this book, plus a pretty great love story. I absolutely loved this and after reading the two books in this series and one of her other books, I'm definitely adding Claire Contreras to my must read list. I can't wait to meet her next month.

It 's a romance fresh, romantic, funny, sexy, very addictive, it's really hard to put it down until you have discovered the secret of Jackson.
Jackson and Leila have a common passion for football. She wants to become a reporter for the NFL, but for a woman it is not easy to enter in this world. Jackson works in her department and is almost her boos. Right from the start the chemistry between them is very strong. But Jackson never mixes work and private life. He also hides a secret that doesn't allow him to have a relationship that goes beyond the simple sex. It born a beautiful friendship and he tries to help her realize her dream. But they are likely to fall in love seriously. Leila is special, different from all the women he has known and perhaps caused him to want to have a family, someone to share his life. But is really worth ruin their beautiful friendship?
Leila and Jackson are great characters and it was very funny to watch them interact. They both afraid to open their hearts and are tormented by their own secrets. Leila is a strong woman, determined, very combative. Jackson is sweet, generous, ready to help others.
This is such an enjoyable story, well written in an easy-to-read style which is just what I need at the end of a busy day. The story is exciting, thrilling, enchanting, sensual and romantic. It is a great romance accompanied with humor, passion and a veil of mystery.

I've read this series all kinds of backwards, so I already kind of knew what was gonna happen in this book. Trip has always intrigued me, and it was really good to get to know him better. Bethy definitely had a very tragic situation followed by a very rough patch, it was good to see her get her happily ever after. They definitely worked well together as a couple, you could definitely feel the chemistry. It also was nice to visit old friends in the series. Hoping I will finish the entire series sometime this year.

How it fits mountain in text, location 3657 like an angel slays the mountain he whispered to me
This book was long, and the word mountain was only in it once, can you believe that??? Sometimes I think it is just the timing of a book, I've been really distracted with a lot of things going on, so getting through this was rough. I didn't care, I didn't care if she was an angel, not an angel, and love with Guy who name starts with a R 1 or guy who name starts with a R2, I can't even remember the names. It was one of those books were every guy was in love with a girl, and I mean every guy, and you could never figure out quite why. But maybe I'm just being moody, not giving this a chance, not sure, and I don't care, not my favorite book, not sure if I'm going to read the next in the series, which is kind of a bummer because I already bought the darn book.

This is one of my all-time favorite series so reading the final book is definitely bittersweet. I might have even peeped out a tear when I read The End. This was a very satisfying read. I may have disliked Max in the beginning of the series, but he definitely lives up to the McCallan name. I loved him and Anna together and when they were with Chase it was even more awesome.
I wish there was more of this series coming out, but I love what Hadley has done here and I really look forward to reading more books by her. She is a must read author for me.

Love in the Light by Laura Kaye
Qualification: 2nd book in a series
Finished: 3/10/16
Rating: 5 stars
I absolutely loved Hearts in Darkness so when I heard that Laura Kaye was writing a sequel I was really freaking excited. This book was exactly what I wanted and more. Makenna and Caden are so great together, but it was also great to see that things weren't perfect for them too. We got a great story from beginning to end here. It was well-written, well thought out and did justice to the characters. It was an emotional roller coaster ride paired with some seriously hot and sweet moments.
I couldn't have asked for a better story for these two great characters. I just found out that Laura is writing a bonus story for them and I cannot wait to read it.
