Week 6: Rolled 4+2 ==> 6New Spot: 43

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Date finished: 02/25/16
Rating: 5 stars
Third installement of the Harry Potter series. Harry is back in school but danger is looming, a convict by the name of Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban and is heading straight to Hogwarts to find Harry. Harry is hearing stories that Black is responsible for the death of his parents.
Not only does Harry have to deal with black but the Dementors, the Azkaban guards are trying to drain the life of Harry. With the help of his two best friends and the new Defense of arts Lupin, Harry is trying to be one step above all dangers and still be a student.
So far this one was my favorite, they are getting older and the storyline is more serious. Harry is getting more powerful evry year but still act his own age. Very well done.

I definitely recommend this book.

How it fits: #3 in The King Trilogy series
Finished: 21. Feb.

I really adore Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and her unusual imagination. No one can think of a plot twist like she. She really did turn Mia's life into "a never-ending stream of chaotic crap" in this book.
While I loved the idea, the setting of beautiful Greek island Crete and sea, I just could not understand Mia's attachment to King. He was an arrogant bastard on his best days...

Another great installment in the twenty sided sorceress series. I loved the action. I also love the nerdy and video game references. My favorite characters are Jade and Harper. I enjoy how Jades mind works to figure things out.

This third book in the series started kind of slow for me. There was so much build up and internal dialogue (especially by Daphne) on how much of a crush/lusting thing they had going for each other but couldn't act on it because of the friendship thing. I just wanted to yell at the book 'we get it... move on!' But once it moved on from that, I started to really enjoy it. And the way the book ended was enough to keep it to four stars. Gib, the hero, kind of got shafted in the book by life circumstances and I wished he had stood up for himself and made his own decisions so I was a little disappointed in him but as I said, the way the book ended made me re-think that a little. All in all, I very much enjoyed this one!

This was a cute story and I really enjoyed it. I liked that the main character, Finley, was older and that the story wasn't just a romance, but also about her accepting herself and not allowing others to dictate how she should behave. Finley had three possible love interests, and each of them was okay in their own way. I liked the way the story ended, thought it wrapped everything up nicely. If you enjoy clean romances you should like this story.
Sorry about being late. We had a bad snowstorm so no electricity and no internet from wednesday till last night but the internet`s still not working.I just posted my review.

Everytime we hear about teenage girls being kidnapped and having a child during that time we always see the POV of the girl but not of the child. It was heartbreaking and at times anger was building up especially since this situation happens all the time. Looking through Jack's innoncent eyes made the book more realisitic. Now I have to see the movie.
@Dominique Sorry to heart about the snowstorm problem. I hope electricity and internet are all fixed soon.@LaurLa Wow a cruise. Somehow I can't feel sorry for your lack of internet during it. ;) Where will you be sailing?

Review: A typical Ted Dekker novel. Thrilling, a good story, and slightly weird. I really enjoyed it!
The brain "hacking" was very different and interesting. I thought the ending was good, although I didn't agree with everything theologically.
All in all, an intriguing read.

Likes:
+ Love the amount of different paranormal creatures featured in the story.
+ Complex world-building.
+ Quirky side characters.
Dislikes:
- I didn't like the main couple or 'feel' the chemistry.
Another book in Immortals After Dark series that didn't do it for me. I keep reading/continuing this series because I love the world and creatures in it, but even my optimism that it will get better has it's limits...

This is definitely one of my favorite series. I love Suze and was very glad to see Gina in this one. Suze is still badass and good at getting herself in trouble. I like how she ends up figuring out the mysteries usually by accident. I can't wait to read the next book.

Review:
Overall I really liked this book but it was touch and go with the heroine. She had a real issue about how people looked, their background and how that reflected on her. This was something she was fully aware of and that it was a wrong attitude but until she met the hero, it wasn't something she was willing to change. All of this was part of the storyline and part of her growth arc, so it was forgiveable (as you trusted the author would bring her out of it), but there were times I wanted to reach in and slap her silly. I was also sympathetic to her feelings as it was all a direct result of her upbringing and her life as a teen but her coping mechanism bordered on making her a judgmental bitch.
The hero was awesome... that's all I can say. He figured out how to push her buttons and make her take a look at how she was living her life (as a lie) and that she wasn't really dealing with her past as much as avoiding dealing with it. He was sexy and tender and just plain yummy and no way she could resist him or her feeling for him.

I was pretty sure before starting this book that I was going to at the very least like it, since every book I've read by Dan Walsh I have either liked a lot or loved...but I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. Rescuing Finley had me feeling a range of emotions, plus I cried several times while reading (and I don't usually cry very easily). I liked how the story switched POV between several different characters. I thought this added a depth to the story, seeing each of the characters personal stories that way. I think if you are a dog lover you will love this story. I highly recommend it.

Review:
Exit Strategy was a good Love Inspired Suspense read. The story starts out with suspense and pretty much keeps up the intensity throughout the story.
I liked the characters, for the most part, and found the mystery of who killed her husband and what clues (if any) did her husband leave her, interesting.
While I haven't read this series in order (only read the fourth book prior to this one), that hasn't hampered my enjoyment. I recommend it if you like these types of stories.

Review:
I wasn't sure about starting this series. I like Kristen Ashley but like a lot of others, I do get a bit weary of the over indulgence in details about mostly insignificant things that are in many of her series. Plus the small town in this series is based on the town I live in so I knew that would be a bit distracting as well. In the end, there wasn't an overabundance of meaningless detail and the setting was a little distracting to me. I kept trying to place the places she described only I knew she wasn't using the town 'verbatim' so to speak but more as an inspiration. Once I got that through my head and stopped trying to recognize everything I was able to get into the book. Which I immensely enjoyed. Sometime KA makes her heroines too resistant and stubborn but I didn't think she did that here with Feb. Though it was the grisly circumstances that began to tear down her walls, I liked how she allowed them to come down, even helped tear them down in some cases. Colt was perfect, of course, but I also liked how he took some of the responsibility for their decades long separation. He didn't fight hard enough at the same time that Feb fought too hard. But I like how they accepted this about each other and were able to look forward. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Beautiful Player was the worst book in this series so far for me. I loved the beginning and how relationship between Hanna and Will grew to something more. But when sex entered the picture, it spoiled everything. These scenes were not exciting and I was bored. I was surprised, since I usually enjoy chemistry in Christina Lauren's novels.
Rating: 2.5 stars. Rounding up to 3 because I really really loved first third of the book.

Wow lots of things going on and many I didn't see coming. This was a great addition to the series. Rachel with all her demon drama, trying to figure out her abilities and exactly where they come from. I'm wondering where Marshall will fit in and if we will see more of how him. I'm definitely interested in what happens next for Rachel and company.

This was a good suspense story. I haven't read any of the previous books in the series, but I don't believe that hinder my reading in any way. The main characters were interesting. HEART sounds like a great organization. The last scene was so sweet. If you love inspirational suspense novels, you'll probably enjoy this one.

The Holiday Courtship was very good. I enjoyed everything about the story, except for a minor thing near the end.
The characters were nice. I liked how the romance progressed.
I felt really sad for the children and all they went through (especially the sister because she lost her hearing).
All in all, a good read. If you enjoy historical romance, I think you'd like this book.
