That's an interesting question, Jeffrey! (You don't HAVE to put everything on Goodreads.) Personally, I like transparency. And I think it is dangerous to make assumptions...so, if I was an employer that saw my employee reading a book about interviewing, I would ask them about it. Maybe that employee is coaching a nephew who is just graduating college, maybe he or she is looking to conduct an interview in the near future. Or maybe they really are looking for a new job and I could talk to them about why they would want to leave. I know not everyone thinks the same way that I do, but I say life is short -- post away! :)

Nicely stated, Melissa!
How does this fit with the rest of our little group here?

If an author approaches me about a cover spotlight or a review, I just check to see if it fits into my blog's personality before I agree to do it. If I feel comfortable with it and I feel that it "fits," I am happy to post. Do I draw a line on my blog when it comes to what I feel is appropriate? yes. Does that stop me from reading a guilty pleasure book every once in a while? no. I'll still list in on Goodreads, but I might not post a review. It really depends. Every situation is different. Specifically to Goodreads however, I add almost everything I read no matter what the topic/genre.
How do you handle this?
