Bonnie | 6 comments Hi All,

I would really like to build some long term beta exchanges. My book is Sci Fi/Fantasy and has all the fun stuff: witches, dimensions, time, dark and light magic, and a bit of romance.

Yours can be any of the following genres: Sci Fi, Fantasy, YA, Romance, Crime Fiction, Erotica (gay or straight), or Literary Fiction.

I think the key for successful beta partnerships is to find people who have complementary writing styles. So if you're interested post your synopsis and one paragraph of your book in the comments :)

Here's a paragraph from mine

"The heat was starting to cut into my skin but the smoke was so much worse than the flames. I ached to breath but every single breath was agonizing and I knew that each one drew me closer to death. I covered my mouth with my hands; trying to block the smoke from flooding into my stinging lungs. It didn’t work, I choked harder as I searched for a way out. Any way out. The row of windows looking onto the courtyard shattered, the glass spraying out and digging into the hard wood floors. I knew this was my only chance, it was pain or death."

Paul Carey you can email me at paulcarey440@yahoo.com
I am finishing the first round of final edits with my editor (a pro) and would love to get some feedback from you. I will do my best on your work. How many words is it? Mine is Mystery/soft sci-fi with a definite comedic twist. 113, 000 words. This is my first book but I think it's not amateurish!

Tracey | 4 comments Hi Bonnie,

I'm not sure if you're still looking for a Beta exchange, but if you are I'd love to see if you're interested in exchanging. My book is a romantic suspense - heavier on the romance approximately 85000 words. I read most everything as long as there's a least a dab of romance. I've included the first couple of paragraphs from the prologue below.

"Jack McKay sidled up to the worn oak bar at Darby's and groaned. He was early. Some would argue it was never too early to get to the bar, but on Thursday nights at Darby's he never arrived before eight. His gaze wandered up to the two mounted televisions above the bar. The reason for his strict tardiness smiled back, mocking him through the television.
Corrie Taggert was even more beautiful than he remembered. Her long blonde hair was pulled back in a casual ponytail and her gray eyes shimmered as she laughed at the horse she was working with. She was naturally pretty, not the fake, ton of makeup pretty. She mesmerized him, one of the reasons he avoided her show, "Star Tails" at all costs."
