R7: "Seven Wonders of the Reading World" (2)

Loved this series. I've read them all except for the last one.

Sorry for the delay.
Hope everyone else's reading is going ok.

The book I had to read for a review took longer than I thought. The book I started for this challenge should be a quick read but I've had stuff to do every night after work this week and it cut into my reading time!

This is the second in the Fallen Angels and follows on a few days after Jim Heron wins the first soul in a game against the Devil Devinia. This book centres very much around Jim trying to keep a fellow operative safe and try and win the second soul in the game. This is well written and keeps you interested to the end, it isn't until near the end when the identity of the soul that is to be won is revealed. As in the first book there is a romance element that is high tension. Definitely a series I'll be continuing.

Review: This was my favorite book in the series so far. I thought that the character development was really good and the relationship also developed at a believable pace. I liked both the main characters and loved that the hero in this book was a little different. He had a strong Alpha side when pushed but he was also charming and could be laid back. I thought he was a great fit for the very tough heroine. As usual there was plenty of action and suspense but I thought it was more even then the previous book with a good mix of action/suspense and character/relationship development.
How It Fits: 4th book in Series

Hope you're husband is okay. So sorry to hear. Hope he's home soon.

Books 3, 4 and 5 in the series all got 5 stars from me. Great series.

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm going to miss Sweet, Texas and the Wilder brothers, their loves and their mom. This is the last book in the series and it was a nice continuation. Reuniting with the characters we've met before plus the same small town feel, alpha males and their mom who manages to keep them all in line. This time it's Jake and Annie's story and it was nice to see their love unfold.
In the back of the book there was a blurb about each of the books plus novellas that fit in between that I somehow missed. I need to add them to my TBR so I can complete the stories set in Sweet, Texas!

Just letting you all know I'm away next weekend and am only taking one or two books with me. I'll have limited selection to choose from and may not be able to finish my book in time.

Hope you have a fun trip. I always have my Nook with me when we travel and/or my Kindle so that I don't have to lug books with me anymore.

Going someplace fun I hope? 3 hour plane trip can get you far.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to keep going in this series. This book really flowed nicely and reminded how much I love Janet & her cast of characters. With the addiction of slayers and powerful artefacts that everyone what's it made for interesting reading. Luckily I have the 5th one on my kindle ready to go :)

Review: After The Lost Symbol I didn't hold much hope that this series could recover BUT I was pleasantly surprised, it was extremely entertaining and hard to put down, it brought be back into the series and left me wanting to know where Robert Langdon goes from here. From start to finish you were kept guessing with the twist and turns, and even when people seemed like Robert's allies, it was a question of if they truly were and what was the motivation behind someone wanting him dead this time. Robert is in a race against the clock to drop a bombshell before he is killed. In typical Dan Brown fashion he left just enough of a cliff hanger that you absolutely are left wishing it wasn't so long until his next book in the series.

Review: well this series does not disappoint. While it was a little slow to start...and the story started away from the series location...once it got going...there was intrigue and romance. You discover that once you can let go...a whole village can and will support you in your time of need. Can't wait to continue to see where the characters go!

Book: The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson

Review:
This is my second read of the book. This is a 4th in series that is set in the same world as the first 3 (but in the far future). The trilogy was one of my favorites and it made this author as my auto-buy for me.
The first time I read it, I was a little disappointed since it's not a pure fantasy like the first 3 but more like an adventure-fantasy. This time I knew what it was like and I was able to enjoy it more. It still doesn't compare to the first three but I'm liking it on its own. I'm definitely continuing the series.

Good night all - happy choosing!

Go to the library.
Do you have a Nook or Kindle? On my Kindle I put book 5 and searched - 14 books came up. Then I searched book 9 in the search and got 4 more.

Oops, note self- make sure to check when using cut and paste!
