It's simple, there is none. Edward comes back rendering any chance that Bella has to become a real person outside her relationship with him nonexistent and everyone else just became more desperate. No one grows or changes into more mature version of themselves, in fact I'm pretty sure most of them reverted back. But guess that could count as development just not the direction one would hope.
