I just finished my favorite book called The Truth about Forever. This book I have not read in years and I was so excited to read it once more. The Truth About Forever
I read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.I think I read it in junior high. Or maybe 6th grade. Either way it was a long time ago. And I only vaguely remembered it.
I was inspired to pick it for this topic after reading Rob Lowe's Stories I Only Tell My Friends. He talks a lot about the casting, the shooting and the impact of The Outsiders. You can read that excerpt for free as Socs and Greasers: Behind The Scenes of The Outsiders from Rob Lowe's Stories I Only Tell My Friends
I read Heart of Darkness and Other Tales by Joseph Conrad...this was required reading in English for me. I didn't remember much of the stories, my favourite story was the first in this edition ("An Outpost of Progress") - it had me hooked from the first word. The other three didn't grab me as much, I think because I wasn't quite in the mood...
