Where the Water Royals live

message 2: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 23, 2014 07:10AM) (new)

"Aquielle" The King called up the stairs" Come down here, we are making a royal appearance". Today was the day they would pass the law of no interacting with fire type. Many people had wanted to pass it for 3 years, but the king kept the law not passed. That was until about 5 people were killed on a spree. The ROyal Guards had stopped him before he kilted more.

Hearing her fathers voice travel up the stairs and through the halls, into her bedroom passed her half open door, it was slightly echo-y by the time it reached her ears. Of course this did not prevent the message from reaching her. Great! This day I have dreaded. That stupid law. I mean come on, it is such generalization. Not everyone in the Fire Realm is a murderer. Putting down her hairbrush, she put on a fake happy smile and called out in her sweetest, most believable voice. "Yes father, I won't be a moment."

Halimeda finished putting on his suit. He waited at the bottom of the stairs for his daughter. While he waited, he thought about his sister, also named Aquielle. He remembered all the times they had gone to the under water garden, to play hide and seek, and how his sister always hid in the same spot. He rememberedhow much fun it was. Until she w's killed. He started to get teary eyed, but wiped any sign of tears away. He fixed his composure. "Hurry up" he called again up the stairs.

Hearing his voice reach her ears once more, she was just finishing up her outfit. Tell me to hurry up, your not the one who has to put on a stupid dress and stupid make up and oh, do not get me started on my hair! Being girly sucks! I would LOVE to see you switch places with me. Her anger wasn't directed at Halimeda, but it was misdirected from the meeting. Keeping up her sweet voice, she replied. "Yes father." Hooking her necklace on, she went down the stairs to meet him with a lovely smile, though it was put on. Not that anyone would be able to tell. "I'm hurried up."

He grabbed his daughter's hand and walked outside. He took in the smell of the water. He looked at all of the citizens. The King prepared a small speech in his mind, while his butler, addressed him. "Now presenting, King Halimeda Lakenshield" Halimeda walked to the front. "Thank you, today, I will present you with the oficialazation (view spoiler) or the law that states" he took a deep breath "That anyone of Fire Type will nt be permitted into this region." He bowed. "Now, my daughter, Aquielle" he bowed again, and stepped backwards whole the audience applauded. "Be nice," he whispered to h's daughter

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Taking his fathers hand, she listened and absorbed his words and mannerisms, as well as that of the audience around them. Just keep your mouth shut and you will be fine. She did not agree with this new law at all, but she understood both sides of the argument put forward about it. Once Halimeda had finished and stepped back, he whispered to her. Damn, can you read my thoughts or something? Amusingly enough, id he could, he would see how different her speech out loud and her true inner speech was. Wait, so no, he can't. Half relief. "Yes father. I shall play nice."

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

The King hoped his daughter's speech would not turn out badly. If she started the wrong way, that was the end. He had started to slouch, but quickly stood upright. He waited for his daughter's speech to begin. He took another step backward so Aquielle could have the spotlight. I'll be damned if she makes a fool of herself. He silently prayed in his mind nothing would go wrong.

It didn't go unnoticed that he slouched, and that rather annoyed her. Oh yeah, thanks for the major confidence in me. What am I? A guppy? Uh, no. I am not. So I am sure not going to bloody act like one. Taking a deep, cleansing breath, she emptied her mind and looked at those around her. "When each citizen submits himself to the authority of law, he does not thereby decrease his independence or freedom, but rather increases it. What has befallen our Realm in the recent days passed had been a tragedy, but we shall not worry anymore. By recognizing that you are a part of a larger body which has banded together for a common purpose, you have become more than an individual, you shall rise to a new dignity of citizenship. Now a safer one, one where we do not need fret over more unfortunate deaths of those we love. Instead of finding yourselves restricted and confined by rendering obedience to public law, you shall find yourself protected and defended in the exercise of this new law. So I ask that you please obey it, as this is all being done in the name of safety for our people." Finishing her speech, she hoped her father wasn't to ashamed of her impromptu words.

The speech impressed King Halimeda more than he thought it would. He has his attendant open the big double doors and they walked back to the palace. "You did much better than I thought." He patted Aquielle on the back. They sat there for a moment, when the king asked, "Would you like any drinks?" he called the butler over to serve them some drinks.

In her mind, she didn't find those words a compliment at all. She pictured herself doing a sarcastic bow and say 'oh yes, why thank you father, I haven't spend my entire life training for stuff like that, no, not all'. However, with her warm smile still decorating her face, she nodded her head to him once as she spoke sweetly. "Thank you father, I am glad you approve." Generally now she would be off up to her room, but she was surprised to here her fathers offer of drinks. This made her suspicious and her every fiber was suddenly on high alert. With the good daughter persona still in play, she answered him. "Why yes thank you father, that would be lovely."

((Bring in the idea of arranged marriage xD))

As they were drinking, the king brought up a point. He knew his daughter Wold hate it, but he said it anyway. "There's this boy, sweet kid actually. Me and h's father were talking and we decided you to were a match. So, in half a year, you will marry this kid" He slumped back in his chair, finishing his glass.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Listening to her father, the grip on her glass tightened the more she heard. By the time he had finished, the beverage had been spilled as the holder shattered in her fingers, broken shards cutting her olive tanner skin. Aquielle let out a small, stained laugh, now the discomfort shw was feeling was obvious to those around her. The butler seemed to cringe at the laugh, knowing something bad was about to happen. "I'm sorry father, I believe I misheard you. You mean to say I am to marry so done I have never met?" Turning her gaze towards the king, it was almost deadly.
