Okay, so here goes. It's about a boy who has this allergy to flowers (sunflower maybe? not sure) He is fearful of a lot of stuff. He is the only weak boy among his village. We later find out (in a sequel) that this was because in old times all the strong men and women were sent to this village. Anyways, back to the current book. The boy (I think his name begins with an 'R' and is something like roran, or roan, or rowan) goes to some elder (possibly a witch) who gives him medicine for the allergy. Now there was some major crisis (A drought maybe?) upon the village and they had to climb this never climbed before mountain right beside their village. To do so the go to the elder for help. However she simply insults them and throws a stick at the boy. The people leave there and decide that they will send the most fearless of men and women to conquer the mountain the next morning. However in last hours of night the boy realizes that in the stick that he was assaulted by, there lies a map. A map with poetry to take them through the mountain's course. However only one stanza was visible at a time. The boy gave the map to his mother to give to the people leaving. However, in a twist of fate, anyone holding the map would see it as empty, except when the boy is holding it. Before leaving a cartographer (not sure, it might have just been some other person in the village) tried to copy off the map but he was unable to (for some weird reason that tied into magic that i dont remember). Now with no choice left, the the boy is to be sent with the group. I believe it was a group of 7 (Not sure). Now on their journey each stanza represented the loss of one member of the group because they feared the specific attribute in the mountain. (After this i am very unsure of what exactly happens) In the end only the boy and a man survive. They had lost their previous member to claustrophobia. Now moving on to the top of the mountain they find the final obstacle. (I think it was a dragon but i doubt it) After overcoming this obstacle with courage the ice of the mountain melted. In a sequel, they talk about a seed of a tree they got from this mountain. however they were bad trees and that is the conflict of the sequel. There were more sequels, that i do not remember. Thank you for your help in advance :D
