I might read Rashmirathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, it's on my to be read list of 2016.
But I'm not sure if I could manage reading it before the meet.

I would say Rashmirathi is a small book, but it has extremely beautiful poems. I'm planning to give it another read

Hi, Raksha! I'm reading Fasaney Manto Key, a compilation of Manto's short stories in the original Urdu. I'm done with the more popular titles - Thanda Gosht, Toba Tek Singh, Naya Qanun and Khol Do, and have started venturing into less familiar territory - Kali Shalwar, Hatak, Bu, Dhuan, Peshawar Sey Lahore, Babu Gopinath, and Nangi Awazein.

I thought of reading a compilation of Faiz's poetry as well - Kalaam-e-Faiz, but he uses a much more Persianized register than Manto - maybe a little too ambitious for a beginning reader in Urdu. This is not relevant to the reading challenge, but just to get the most out of the experience, I also finished Ayesha Jalal's amazing biography of Manto - The Pity of Partition. :-)

Also, I'm not sure what the consensus here is about whether translations count or not, but full disclosure wise, I have also just begun drudging through the first HP book in German - Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen, in an attempt to resurrect my once-okayish facility in that language. Let's see how far I get, little vocabulary notebook and pocket dictionary in hand.

That's awesome. I have yet to read many more works of "Manto nama" . Bring the biography in the meet if you could.
And No, the translations doesn't count. And that is one tedious job. Sitting with translation dictionary I mean.
