Beyond that, I'd love a sequel just because the language and the world are so wonderful to be in. And you sense there are more stories to be told. But it's clearly such a huge amount of work that it must be a tough thing to take on.


And... he said one problem is or was: she's sick.
(In addition to how long it takes to write such a big book.)
Anyhow, but yeah: totally bums me out. Not hearing any news, year later. (I've kind of given up hope--but google "Jonathan Strange sequel" every now and then, like tonight.)
I think it's one of the best books ever. Better than Harry Potter, for example, even.

However I don't think there are any plans for a sequel... If there one, I think I'd want it from a whole new, fresh perspective. I'd want to see some of the old characters a little bit maybe, but I think she finished their story really well in the first book, and I'd hate for that to be compromised.
