@Tasha this is in northwest Alabama
@Travis that's awesome about the tower challenge. There are only a few towers remaining in this area, most have been taken down and none are in use that i know of.
The scariest post about climbing this one was the open steps and that you can see out the sides the entire way. And that i want really sure how strong all those old wooden planks for steps were. I couldn't have done it a few years ago but i have overcome a big portion of my fear of heights. I'm really don't think i could climb a water tower because those are usually ladders and not steps and my legs were shaking pretty bad just going up these steps, I'd be terrified of slipping going up a straight ladder.
@Joan thanks for the link about the water colors, I've been curious about that as well but haven't had time to research it. I look forward to reading the link you u shared. One of the men in our group said the colorwas partly due to the fact that the bottom and sides of the pond are solid rock and not dirt.

No plans for me tonight, I'll probably be in bed before midnight. My husband is home for the weekend but had to deliver some stuff he has sold so is going to be gone most of the day today. He ended up with problems with his truck this morning so that's caused him going to be even later getting back. I sort of wish i had went with him but oh well. I'm getting caught up on cleaning the house... sort of anyway. Not too productive sitting here on my kindle. Lol.
One of the local off-road/atv parks is open this weekend so we are going there tomorrow to ride.

In case I don't get a chance later, Happy New Year everyone!
