Lisa - I hope your mom is ok and it turns out to be something simple.

That's good, Lisa, I'm so glad to hear it!

Glad your mother is okay, Lisa.
How cool to have a family buddy read, Travis.

Good to hear about your mum Lisa. I had nosebleeds a lot as a kid and ended up in a ane e a number of times reeulting with cauterisation which is basically a giant match being shoved up your nose. Boy does it make your eyes water. In the end i had to have it cuaterised whilst under anaesthetic where I'm guessing they just lasered all the veins up my nose. Never had a nosebleed after that. Touch wood.
That is funny Travis! I hope you manage to get some conversation about them. I really must start that series.

Sandra, the doctor in A+E gave my mum some cream to put inside her nose to see if it helps as he did wonder if cold air, central heating etc, might have been the cause.

Sarah, really happy to hear that your doggy guest has been reunited with her owner! :) Has having her stay the night got you in the mood for a dog of your own?... ;)

Hopefully the cream is enough!

Happy to know about the happy ending!

I'm glad she was chipped too! It makes things so much easier. Isn't it the law now to have your dog chipped? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

That must be a pain, Travis! Do they last a long time or do they stop quite quickly?

I should mention my brother in law who is flying through mistborn lives halfway up Pikes Peak at Barr Camp in the front ridge of the Rockies. He and his wife are caretakers. They don't get many hikers this time of year stopping by. But if anyone stops by Barr Camp be sure to tell Nate you're my reading buddies.

I think it's good too. A lot of dogs wander off and some unfortunately get stolen. We do have stray dogs I guess but I wouldn't say it's a big problem. We do have dog homes but I guess these are over run so perhaps that is what made them bring the law in.

I'd be so sad if my pup were stolen! Of course, she's a mutt, so I probably don't have much to worry about. She is chipped as well.
My cat on the other hand is an outdoor cat and visits everyone in the neighborhood. She follows the kids to the bus stop in the morning and they have given her a nickname (ninja cat). lol She also feels free to hop in people's cars and go in their houses. Everyone loves her. I'm worried one day she won't come home. We plan to get her chipped soon.

I would be so sad too if any of my cats got stolen. Ours have a cat flap so they can come and go as they please but luckily they are homebods so they choose to spend most of their time indoors. Also, none of them are pedigrees so we don't have to worry on that front either.
It's such a shame there are people out there who think it is okay to steal pets. Nothing is safe these days it seems, unless it is physically nailed down. No doubt they then try to sell them on for a huge price!

Or use them for dog fighting or poaching! Yes it is a sad world. :-(

Yes, that too! Very sad :(

This Thursday is Thanksgiving, you are right.

I bought my first thing online today Lisa. A gift for my grandmother. It's a metal sculpted dog with has a solar light in it wants funky silhouettes on the floor at night. I normally have a nightmare finding something for her. What do you buy a 96 year old? But my sister in law bought one for my mother in law last year and I think my nan will like it too. I know my nan won't be online so I don't need to worry about ruining the surprise. I've no idea what to get my parents though. Much thinking is required. I was hoping to see if I can find anything in Amsterdam at the weekend or failing that at the Bath Christmas market.

I bought my first..."
That was nice of the owners, Sarah. They are obviously very grateful for the care you gave her.

I did most of my Christmas shopping online this year. It's so much nicer than having to go out in crowds of people.
What's Bath Christmas Market like, Sarah? I have often thought about going to the city for a couple of days and taking in the market at the same time. That Christmas present you got for your nan sounds really nice. I reckon she will like it.

And good to hear your mom is fine Lisa :)
I don't think I need to do much christmas shopping this year, yay!

On a happier note, I just got word that a review paper I wrote on emotional eating is accepted for publication! What a drama it was to get that one published.. It's in an open access journal (freely available to everyone), so if anyone's interested I can post a link when it's online.

Sounds lovely! I will definitely have to give it a go one year.
I hope your boat engine gets sorted soon!

That's a shame you won't be able to go to the book fair, Peggy. Mind you, it might be just as well. At those prices I can imagine you would come home with quite a few! ;)
Congratulations on getting your review paper published! I would be interested in having a read of it when it goes online.
