Cark it? Is that a euphemism for die? Like kick the bucket or croak?"

Yup :)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Joe Hill says on twitter books shoulf be nominated in the correct genre. Don't vote for the Fireman because they put it in the horror genre which is clearly wrong

message 3153: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Interesting that he is saying not to vote on his book. He is right and I bet he got pigeon holed as a horror writer because of previous books, his father and what people have shelved it as on GR. Now do I change my vote? But the only other one I've read is another book which has been mis genred as horror too. Hmm

message 3154: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19143 comments I'm keeping my vote. I wonder if it could be a write in somewhere else?

message 3155: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Pfew! I came down after a shower, opened my ereader, and strangely it was still switched on from when I was reading before. Usually it shuts down after 5 minutes.

But the main page looked weird, it has some of the shelves on it again I created ages ago but were automatically deleted with the latest update. And all of a sudden there were only 35 books on it instead of the 250 or so that should be on there!

I panicked a bit and switched it off and back on again, and thankfully all books have returned! Shelves are also still on there but all empty. Kobo ereaders act so weird sometimes, and they have the crappiest customer service, never buying one again.

The bad news is... ALL the readers act weird or funny sometimes -or awful often- I think this is the dark side from being relatively cheap, light and small (no much valuables in there)

message 3170: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Thanks.

Well here in the US it is the coubtdown to apocalypse as tomorrow is election day and unfortuneately one of these people will be elected. Everyday you wake up thinking perhaps you've been asleep trapped in Stephen King novel but nope this is really happening. And it's scary.

message 3171: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I really feel for you guys with the election. It's not like you can keep your fingers crossed for the good guy to win as there isn't a good guy. This has been a crappy political year for many countries it would seem.

I had a wonderful weekend away for my course. Learnt lots, got lots of fresh air by the sea, lots of fireworks on Guy Fawkes night, tried Wagamamas for the first time, and now I'm tired!

message 3172: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments But remember to vote everyone, for all of us around the world terrified and looking on and can't ourselves. It's super important to vote, and even if you dislike one person less than the others, you should exercise your right to choose that one.

We've all read books about places in this world or made up ones, where people aren't as lucky as us to be able to influence our political systems. Don't take that for granted.

And while I am hoping one particular candidate doesn't win, that doesn't alter my message to you all even if you support someone I don't. Vote!

message 3173: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Hope you had a good time with your family Travis, despite the reasons why. Sorry to hear you guys have had another loss.

message 3174: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19143 comments I've already voted. I can't wait for this chaos to be over. What a horrific election year it's been, so negative. It's just draining.

I agree, Rusalka. Everyone should exercise their right to vote.

message 3175: by Joan (new)

Joan Election years like this one make me doubt our presidential system. The 2 cults of personality have drowned out all the other issues & contests.
It seems like countries with prime ministers don't have that single demigod focus. Or maybe it just looks that way from the outside.

message 3176: by KimeyDiann (last edited Nov 07, 2016 07:23AM) (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I agree with the rest of you, I'm beyond ready for this election to be over. I don't like either option, but I'm going to vote for the one I dislike the least. Even though I know where my state's electoral collage votes will be going, whether I vote or not.

I shared this blog post on facebook the other day. I love some of the things she says, especially this point:
"Half of you hate Trump. Half of you hate Hillary. I personally hate the [GD] media and the shitshow it’s created.

We are in the midst of a civil war, where sides are chosen based on a person’s support of a specific candidate for leader of the free world. You don’t know facts, you only know what the media has presented. The two fuckwits running for president don’t give a rat’s ass about you or your current situation. Our nation has checked its dignity at the door."

message 3184: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3367 comments I just came in to cheer on everyone voting. The person I voted for in the primary did not win, and so I like neither candidate, but I am choosing the one I believe to be more informed and more experienced. Because frankly, the other one really scares me.

I've got anxiety issues anyway, so this election season has been a real hair-raiser for me haha. Really hoping we will know the answer tonight and that it won't drag out any longer. We are all ready to be done with this one, for sure.

message 3187: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19143 comments Laura - I feel the same. My choice in the primary did not win and one candidate really scares me, so I voted for the one that I think is more capable and suitable.

I've also been having anxiety over this election and can't wait for it to be over. I think it's anxiety provoking because there is one candidate that is so scary to me, plus there has been so much negativity. I've never had anxiety over an election before.

I'm with you hoping it is finally done tonight!

Enjoy your new house, Kristie!

I hope we can all breathe a sigh of relief, along with the stock markets and the rest of the world, after this election.

message 3189: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I'm stickinv to my guns and already voted Gary Johnson. My war is the fight to break bipartisanship. Its already a victory having a third party main candidate too bad they woukdn't let him debate but one step at a time

message 3190: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I voted, but I can't say I feel good about my decision. Hopefully we will know the official results tomorrow.

message 3195: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19143 comments Thanks, Laura! :) I hope we can too!

Travis - I was disappointed that they didn't let him debate. Something doesn't seem right there.

message 3196: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Wow, I just woke up to the election news. That is unexpected.. I can't believe he's actually going to win this.

message 3197: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments It must have been a nerve-wracking day for all of you in the US!

message 3199: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Indeed Sarah! Everything you think would never happen, happens. Makes me fear our elections next year..
