Thanks all. Hanging in there. Woyld be better if I hadn't worked all day but tomorrow I'm going to the doctor. my wife is a ohysical therapist so I have been doing stretches and excercises but still walk hunched over. Need muscle relaxer and srronger anti inflammatory. She will call my doctor and give her opinion and since she works with the same hospital he knows and respects her opinions.

Going to see a doctor is a great idea, Travis. I hope the treatment works fast. You need a vacation, so I hope that pinched nerve doesn't ruin everything!

You have to go to the Smithsonian Institute -there are some really great museums. The Air and Space Museum is always fun for kids and adults.

I've been busy dealing with, and at the same time avoiding life's continuing campaign to see how much I can take. After a bad time, my therapist and I agreed to check myself into the mental health wing at a local hospital. It was a lovely week where I got back to a safe place and slept a lot. I also met my possible future date - he walked in on me in the bathroom twice while I was getting ready to shower (no locking doors) and invited me into his room one night. I'm hoping he gets out soon. ☺

Found out Friday that I'm being RIF'd. Last day will be October 31st. Over half of my area is being let go due to outsourcing. In a way I'm glad. Physically my arm wasn't going to last another year or two (I key numbers). But mainly I'm hoping this will lead to the chance to move back to Virginia and be closer to my family.

RIF = Reduction in force
I'll get severance pay and unemployment benefits. That would give me time to look for something in VA and get house ready to put on market. I just hope they don't offer me a comparable job. That would screw up everything.

We have a couple of hurricanes coming around the Hawaiian islands. So far hurricane Madeline has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm but still high winds and rain. Hurricane Lester is still a category 4 storm and is still quite a bit away from Hawaii! The news said it should weaken by the time it gets here and hopefully keeps heading northwest, away from the islands!

I'm off to Scotland in the morning so I will say goodbye for now. I wonder if I will find Jamie Fraser while I am there...? A girl can certainly dream! ;)

The big island got tons of rain yesterday and the new said there were a lot of people without power :( when I listened to the news this morning, the power company had almost everyone back with power! I've never seen a power company get things going so fast!

I's are generally pronounced "e" in the Hawaiian language. So Waikiki is Why-key-key. The "ai" is generally a long "i". It's a very beautiful language to listen to.
