Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments This Saturday is the return of the dreads concert. In This Moment. Rob Zombie. And Korn. Head is back in Korn again the new music has a touch of that old Korn rage in it. Life is good. Check that. Life is Peachey. I'm even breaking my own rule of not wearing the shirt of the band you are going to see and wearing a Korn shirt. I'm too old to care anymore

message 2552: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Lol Travis. My partner has that same rule. But i also get the too old to care breaking of the rule. Sounds like a good concert. ENJOY!

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments Hi, Just popping in to say I am still around somewhat. 2016 seems to be the "year of the worst reading slump". Seriously. I do whatever else. I grab my ipad to get to my ebook and end up playing sodoku. Ridiculous. I cannot seem to get out of this one.

This being said, I have a trip coming (Edmonton Alberta) so I will have airport time to read.

message 2554: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Good to see you're still around Esther. I hope you are enjoying all the other things you are doing instead of reading. Fingers crossed your trip will kick start things for you.

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Nice to hear from you, Esther! Reading slumps are the worst. Have you tried rereading a book you really enjoyed? I often find that helps me to get out of them.

You're coming to my neck of the woods, relatively speaking. It's a 4-1/2 hour drive away. When are you going to be in Edmonton?

Oh! that is thing. I hope you make a "recovery" very soon

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Hey! I just noticed it's now possible to read spoilers in the app (at least in reviews, haven't checked discussion threads yet)! That's so great :D

Sorry if this feature is already months old..

message 2565: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oh no, doesn't seem to work for discussions.

message 2566: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19147 comments I noticed that recently too. I've started adding that there's a spoiler before my spoiler tags in reviews. I read a few spoilers accidentally before I figured that out.

message 2567: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Oh, that is great. I hope the fix it for discussions too.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Where is everybody the last couple of days? There have only been a few posts today so far.

It's threatening to rain here, but I'm going to head out to the lake where my kids are camping. I haven't seen them all summer so I invited myself out. The grandkids will be back in school in a week! Hard to think that summer break is over all ready.

message 2570: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4530 comments It has been pretty quiet lately. Maybe everyone is gearing up for the start of the school year (at least those who have kids still in school). My son is moving into a new apartment on Thursday and I'll finally get rid of the furniture and "stuff" he's been storing all over my house (as well as himself) since March. I'm so excited I've offered to pay the movers.

message 2571: by Lisa (last edited Aug 27, 2016 02:45PM) (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I reckon everyone must be enjoying the last few days of summer :) I'm going on holiday to the Scottish Highlands for a few days on Thursday so I am gearing up for that. I can't wait!

message 2572: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yes I couldn't believe how little posts there have been. Here in the UK it's bank holiday weekend. My partner took Friday off as well so we have a long weekend to work on our bathroom. Yes we're still sorting our bathroom. It's taking shape thought. :-)

We went to buy some wood for the bathroom and when we got back it was raining so we decided to wait a little as we'd gone out without coats, with shorts and flip-flops on. Then there was the most humongous thunder and lightning storm. We were stuck in the car for just under an hour while we waited out the storm. We didn't want to get the wood wet, nor the new duvet I'd bought or our nice clean, dry laundry. So I watched the storm in the car while my partner napped!

message 2573: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19147 comments My husband and I are house hunting. It is not my favorite thing. My mom is going to be moving in with us, so we are looking for a home with an in-law suite where she won't have to walk to many stairs and so far we're not having much luck.

We are also going on vacation to Ireland a week from today, which I can't wait for, so we've been planning that.

@ Lisa - Have fun on your holiday!

@ Sarah - Too bad you didn't have a book with you!

message 2574: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I just got home from the lake and I'm glad I went. It rained and it was cold, but that's camping. It was tense driving home in the dark and rain, especially since there is some construction on the highway and there are no lines painted. It was really hard to tell where I was on the road.

The cat has been trying to eat my hair ever since I sat down. She must be attracted to the smell of the campfire. She just put her paw on the side of my head and pulled my hair. Strange behaviour.

message 2575: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Sarah, I'd be tempted to wait out the storm in the car too.

Kristie, good luck on the house hunting.

It's not just YLTO that's quiet. It seems to be all across Goodreads. Maybe it just means that people have real lives. :)

message 2576: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I would love to visit Ireland someday Kristie. Enjoy!!

Also good luck with the house hunting :)

Stephanie Glad you had a fun time camping, Janice!

I've been quiet on here. Haven't joined any challenges or topplers for awhile. Just haven't been reading a lot :)

Hopefully our stuff gets here soon so I can see what I have to! I can't wait to get my library card here!

Have a great day everyone!

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Have pinched nerve in my back so that sucks. Pain intense to wgere I'd like to just cut my leg off but that isn't practical. Even so went to concert last night. Had a blast. It was incredibidible.

Now believe it or not since I never take vacations am leaving Thursday for vacation ubtil Sunday in Virginia. Yeah the back won't like that car ride at all. Friday my wifes grandfather will be buried at Arlington as a WW2 veteran which should be neat. After that we are free to roam. Take kids to National zoo and pribably hard rock cafe. Tomb of unknown sokdier. My cousin lives in Baltimore and is going to meet us at the zoo. Should ve a fun time. Even the burial shouldn't be too bad he passed 7 weeks ago just takes a long ti.e to book a spot at Arlington

message 2594: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Pinched nerve really sucks, Travis. I hope you get better soon, to enjoy the trip. And being buried in Arlington is such an honor. I don't know if I have already mentioned it, but my next door 93 years old neighbor is a WWII veteran too. He also wrote a short memoir for his grandkids that he let me read a few years ago.

message 2595: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Yikes! I hope that pinched nerve clears quickly so that you can enjoy your trip, Travis!

Are you feeling better today, Travis?

message 2599: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Trapped nerves are no fun. I hope it sorts itself soon Travis. A holiday? You won't know what to do with yourself ;-) Hope you have a good one.

message 2600: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I hope your back will not give you too much grief while you are on vacation, Travis.

My ex-husband and his wife have been in Washington D.C. for the last two weeks and visiting all of the sights. He has been posting pictures and videos on Facebook. They toured Arlington and the war memorials last week. I have friends traveling in New England too and posting all of their pictures. I have been traveling digitally with them. ^-^
