Watcha Doin' - 2016.1

My loaf of bread is probably going to be a flop. Because I've been working and out in the evening, I didn't get chance to bake the bread so I kept it cool and brought it out last night to prove but it's gone a bit far now. It's currently in the oven. We shall see what happens. Hopefully, I can plan a bit better for the next one I make.

I actually prefer the "kool aid mix type" as a hot beverage rather than cold.

Yum! I think I'll come visit. :)

Got it! Thanks, Peggy!

I feel a bit sad for my boyfriend. He's the manager of a store that deals in car parts (among other things), which is one store in a chain of 15 or so, but his is the biggest because it's also a central logistic point and he has most personnel and all that. He's doing great in that job, but he doesn't like it. It's too much stress, responsibility (even if he's on a holiday he will be held responsible for things that went wrong in his absence), too many hours, and I don't think there's any evening or day he's at home and he is not bothered by colleagues asking questions or calling in sick. He's not allowed to switch his phone of when he's at home, he has to be accessible all the time. He talked about all this with the guy who supervises him and they gave him a deadline for yesterday to decide whether he wants to continue or whether to step back (and be the second in command in his store, or perhaps the first one in a smaller store). He's been thinking about it but really the choice is simple. It makes him unhappy and stressed and he doesn't want to do it anymore. He's been very irritable lately, tired, hardly sleeps at night, has had an almost constant headache for the past two weeks and is eating painkillers like I eat chocolate, and I don't think any job is worth that. Also sounds a bit like he's heading towards a burn-out if he continues for much longer.
So yesterday he told his supervisor he wants to quit doing this, but today they told him that the 'higher-up people' don't want him to quit and that he should come up with stuff they can do so that he stays in the job. It feels like he's sort of forced to stay, which is also a bit of a compliment I guess, but I guess all the things he hates about his job are kind of inherent to it. It's not nice to see him stressed and unhappy, and I hoped it would be over by now, but apparently not..

Hmm... maybe I should take my own advice there. :-/

We have a screened-in porch to use this year. I'm excited as well. It used to be an unsuable room housing kids stuff (everywhere!!) and now it's a beautiful outdoor room.

I'm now officially off (well I'll sleep for 5 hours and then go), so I will be more AWOL than usual for the next month. I am off travelling to the Caribbean and the States for 4 weeks.
I'll check in when I can, but have fun, I'm not dead (yet) and see you all in April, where I will be much more active as I won't be working so much in preparation for leaving!

Safe travels, Rusalka! I hope you have a fab trek. I'm in North Carolina. in the unlikely event you're visit to the States brings you anywhere within a couple of hours, maybe we can raise a glass of wine in person!

Safe travels, Rusalka :)
Do we have a garden thread here? Tips for planting, etc?
We have a patio that is shaded all day. We are thinking of planting some veggies in planter pots :) we shall see if it happens ;)

I'll try to get something up soon. I'd like to decorate it first with plants and stuff in the spring. I'd love to see a pic of your garden as well!

Currently we don't, but you may certainly set one up in "off topic chat" folder if you like.

Thanks for asking, Tasha! I am still feeling fluish but my temperature is not quite as high as it was and I am not aching as much so hopefully it is on the way out now :)
Still trying to recover from a yucky cold. Thank goodness for megapacks of Kleenex from Costco .......
Thank you!! :) I am getting there, very slowly ......

Get well soon, Lisa Ann!

I was told that all 132 books on my wish list show on their end. But, they don't show on my laptop, PC (two different browsers), or my iPad. I hope they fix the problem and recreate my list because I don't really want to have to do it manually.

Sounds wonderful, Sarah. I don't think I have the patience to do this, plus I'm trying to generally steer away from white breads and carbs, which of course I totally love!!!!!!
