Very pretty CFDeeDee! How long does it take to apply those designs?

No storm here at all, just a normal snow fall.

Definitely :)
I feel really bad for the little doggies at our apartment building :( I knew I should have purchased a shovel this year :)

I feel bad for DC :( I'm not sure of the accumulation total here in Charlottesville ( we are about 100 miles or so from DC). The snow really needs to stop...anytime now would be great :) we were planning on going to the hockey game tomorrow in DC but doesn't look like that will happen. I hope the game gets post poned so we can at least go at a later date. They postponed last nights game so there is hope :)

That is so pretty, CFDeeDee!!

I wonder how cold it gets around snow .. It'll always be a dream to make snowman

it snowed for about an hour yesterday - the big cotton ball stuff - and my students went crazy, but then it turned to sleet and ice and was pretty slick. We had 50 mile an hour winds and about 2 1/2 inches of rain last night. I live in Virginia Beach, so it was like a little tropical storm here. Still staying in the house for round 2 which will bring the snow and freeze the wet roads. It's a hot chocolate slow cooker day. I've already read 1 book :)

It's gorgeous out there but I am NOT excited about getting the dogs out this morning (slept late). I'd much rather stay in!

We are nearly neighbors. Charlottesville is a wonderful place. Enjoy the snow. :)

Our cold snap has finally broken, and we're back to standard 40° F and rain. After the icy madness of the past month, I'm pretty grateful for that. Especially as it seems our office might be moving across town this next month.
CFDeeDee your feet are beautiful! It makes a standard pedicure hang its head in shame. How long did that take?
I'm having a pretty chill day, I have some grocery shopping to do, and I think I'll schedule a message.

The snow is still coming down but is lighter than it was. Cars at our building are pretty much buried :(

it just started to come down about an hour ago. The garden is getting covered. The roads aren't covered yet, but they are freezing now because we had rain earlier. Wow! You guys really got a lot of snow.

Not at all :) the hockey game we were going to go to in DC has been postponed so we won't be out any money :)

Yes!!! I'm curious to see how much snow you get normally :) I've seen this much growing up in Washington state..just not all at once ;)

Ugh! Hope you guys don't get as much there :) most of the snow on the back of the cars is from the plows :(

@Stephanie woooow now that IS snow

Good luck with the snow everyone. Sounds like you got a proper snow storm this time. Stay safe!

ETA: It doesn't matter how far back that Scottish blood is in a person's veins, because the pipes and drums will stir it up! A wee bit of haggis and some Robbie Burns poems, and you'll have me talking with a Scottish brogue.

after wrestling with the snowblower and shoveling, I settled down with Colin Firth in

Travis you folks upstate are supposed to get this much snow but it is a surprise for downstate.
My dog and I love it I however

Travis you folk..."
Yes I know. We have all greatly enjoyed seeing a blizzard hit somewhere else for once. Now I see worries about flooding when it melts though which is a problem we have also but I don't like to see anyone have to deal with flooding.

Love all the snow pictures. I've been to places (mainly in the mountains) where snow has been that deep but I've never experienced it like that here in the UK. Apparently the weather front you are experiencing in the US will cause ridiculous amounts of rain here soon so that should be fun for us.
I'm not going to be around all that much this week, just popping in as and when, as we are moored in a place where there is no internet. It's not exactly in the middle of nowhere but I'm guessing the woods and the embankment aren't helping.

@Joan lovely dog, reminds my of my brother's..
@Sarah Thanks :D share a picture when you have some. I did design my hands and arms too, but I was more excited about my feet :P

I went to a friend's wedding in Greece two years ago (she's Greek, her husband Dutch) and that was really awesome too. They had all kinds of Greek traditions and the ceremony was outside a small church on a beautiful location. Just the idea that you can get married outside without a plan B in case the weather sucks (even in summer) sounds amazing ;-)
Speaking of weather... whereas it was freezing and only +2C until a few days ago, right now it's sunny and 15C and it feels like spring. People are having a break outside without their coats on. If I was at home today I could maybe even have read a book outside in the garden!

Its around 20C over here and we call it winter!
That is either fascinating, or odd !

I wonder if, when tourists from colder places visit your country in winter, they are very underdressed by your standards? I can imagine them walking around in tshirts while all the local people are wearing winter coats.

That will be fun to get henna on your hands and arms. We'll want pictures.

I couldn't bear those temperatures! I like it around 25C. Anything hotter and I melt.

@Stephanie, are you still snowed in?
The snow ended up being a non-event here. It was mostly just really cold and windy with some flurries. A hour or so west of here got a few inches, but it was mostly gone by Saturday. I enjoyed my day off of work though. I had a pretty lazy three day weekend and it was wonderful!
