Susanne (heysus74) | 97 comments I'm 40% through with Between the World and Me. It's a short book but it's taking me a long time to read. It's written in a stream of consciousness style, which is always very difficult for me. This style of writing doesn't stick with me. I can't read Virginia Woolf for the same reason.

message 166: by Sue (new)

Sue | 415 comments The book worked really well for me in audio format. I can imagine it would be more challenging in print.

How is the Hawk book on audio? I have that marked to read but I usually have an audiobook for my commute.

message 170: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bluemusicnut) | 1 comments I spent one February week with Jean Hegland's Windfalls. Hedland is a marvel at evoking the reader's compassion for her characters. If I found out today that Cerise is a living and breathing person, I would need to help her in some way. People used to say "There but for the luck of the draw, go I."
