Hello everyone! My name is Danille (my friends call me Dani). I'm a lifelong lover of books who has been sorely slacking the last few years. I enjoy just about anything but my favorite genres are cozy mysteries and historical fiction. Other than reading I enjoy the simple things in life. A cup of coffee with my husband, game night with friends and family, scenic walks to collect my thoughts, things of that nature.

I found this group by browsing through the immense list on GR. I was drawn here because of the sense of community that I felt from reading through some of the posts.

I can't wait to get started reading and sharing with everyone!

Hi "You'll Love This One..."! My name is Sara and I'm a librarian in the Empire State (New York)! I live on Long Island (which is a very long island indeed and I live very close to the end about 2 hours from NYC) with my fantastically talented artist husband, two horrid sons who's adorableness is the only thing currently keeping them from being thrown into traffic, one majestic but smelly boy cat named Atticus, and one ancient, evil gargoyle girl cat named Dobby.

I am a book FIEND, I write long, scathing reviews or gushing, nonsensical love letters to the books I adore.

I am a theater nerd, big fan of 80's music and movies (just finished losing my mind over "Stranger Things"), adore Star Wars, Star Trek, Twin Peaks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (basically anything to do with vampires as long as they don't sparkle or are named Lestat), good food, long, dramatic arguments about Shakespeare, writing when I get the time, scary movies, my kids...the list goes on...

I found you good folks through a friend who directed me to your lovely chat with Scott Hawkins, the genius behind The Library at Mount Char which happens to be one of my top five reads from last year! So you're clearly a bunch right after my own heart!

Welcome Sara! Ohhhh, I haven't thought of Twin Peaks in a long time. Have you read the Harry Dresden series by Jim Butcher? I highly recommend listening to it. There are some (nonsparkly) vampires and it's narrated by Spike (James Marsters).

I'm Kim from Michigan. I've been a reader all my life in spurts. My new year's resolution was to read 30 books. I've read 40 and now can't imagine why I stopped reading. Anyhow, joining a group seemed like the next logical step. I browsed through your group last night and you seem like a great group. I am intrigued by your challenges and I like that you have group reads as well. My first group so I will appreciate your guidance.

We have a yearly challenge going on until the end of December and we have a new group read and monthly challenge every month. Check out the discussions and jump as you feel ready. We are a pretty lively group and usually have lots of things to say. Ask a question and someone will be sure to respond. We have other members in Michigan - maybe you know each other. :)

Welcome Nadine and Kim! We're a pretty friendly group . We have an easy24 hour read-a-thon called a Toppler later this month that I hope you'll check out. A lot of our activities invite you to gopher for that perfect book. Gophering is half the fun sometimes - it involves searching through books you own, books on your tbr, at the library, anywhere really, and making physical and mental stacks of possibilities.
