I picked up Kill the Dead which is a Kindle Daily Deal ($1.99) and then it's audiobook whispersync copy ($3.99).

It does sound really intriguing. It was the cover that caught my eye initially but the synopsis really sold it to me. I couldn't resist!
Picked up two used books in a thrift shop today: Demons & Dreams: The Best Fantasy and Horror (2.5 €) and North Korea Undercover (1 €).
can you see me hopping and clapping hands? my TOPPLER CHALLENGE books have just arrived:
Blackass
The Vegetarian
The Portable Veblen
have my next week all book-ed for our challenge.
☺ ☻ ☺
I got Neil Gaiman's Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances on today's Kindle Daily Deal for $1.99. I always check iBooks because I have a gift card there and it was $17.99.
Travis of NNY wrote: "Yesterdays audible deal was axtually one I had on the tbr Daemon"That would fit the toppler: technology advancements gone wrong. I don't know what to call it, but you know what I mean. I hope.
I got a pile of books, which I really didn't think was supposed to be that many. I apparently got click happy:A Local Habitation
An Artificial Night
Late Eclipses
The Winter Long
Blood Bound
Magic Burns
The Black Book
Our Man in Havana
Galápagos
The Lives of Things
Armageddon in Retrospect
White Horse
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Song of Achilles
The Shape of Water
Horns
I bought A Place to Call Home: Toby's Tale. It is free on Amazon for kindle today (may be US only?). It sounds cute and it is told from a dog's perspective :) how could I resist ;)
I bought The Lake House for the Buddy Read in March and Woman Author Group Read,Unbound (Anthology of short stories) - just because - there is a short story in it by Terry Brooks about the Kingdom of Landover, and for continuing harry Hole series and Buddy Reads -
Cockroaches and The Redbreast.
Tell the Wolves I'm Home has been in my TBR for sooooo long... I'll check if it fits a task in any of my sites and maybe do some changes in my plan. I really want to read it.
I have never heard of Tell the Wolves I'm Home and I have to admit that reading the blurb doesn't convince me to read it. But, seeing how many of my GR friends have added it to their tbr and how high the ratings are of those who already read it, specifically some people who share my taste in books, there must be something about it. So I added it to my list.

Also, it was one of our group reads back in 2013 and it looks as though most people that took part enjoyed it.
That's (one of) the fantastic things about GR. You get to know and trust your friends' taste. It's a great way to find new books I wouldn't have picked. Actually, after GR most of the books I read are 4 or 5 stars. It really has improved the way I pick my reads, because of the reviews in general, and my friends reviews in particular.Tell the Wolves I'm Home in the shelves of 24 of my friends with an 4.33 average. That's amazing!
I never realized you can see your average friend rating. For my friends it's also 24 times shelved (read 6 times) and an average of 4.17.I agree with your comment Sandra, I was just thinking yesterday how fantastic my reading year has been so far. I rarely give 5 stars, but this year out of the 10 books I read, 8 were 4 stars (and the others 3 and 5).
And I love finding books that don't interest me at first sight but which I'll give a chance anyway based on GR friends' opinions. Another one I recently bought for that reason was The Luminaries.
I am one of those that really LOVED Tell the Wolves I'm Home. I think you guys will really enjoy it.
I think that book was a group read a few years back which might explain why lot's of your ylto firneds have read it. Have a look through the group reads thread when you get to it Lisa.
Peggy - Tell the Wolves I'm Home has been on my TBR forever. I even bought a copy. It is one of the books I have as a must read in 2016. I also have had a really good reading year this year. Hardly ever give out 5 stars and I think I've had 3 five star reads already this year.
I picked up a couple of books in Audible's 2-1 sale:River of Darkness
Who Fears Death
I also spent another credit and got:
Stars Above
I saw both those books there. I'm not far enough along in the In Death series to pick that one up and I'm way past Magic Burns. I just have one book left in the series, before Book 9 is released.
We had to go shopping yesterday for our trip, and move some furniture so our housesitters had somewhere to sleep. So in order to reward ourselves, we went out for breakfast. And as breakfast (the only cafe in the suburb of the shops we needed) was across the road from our bookshop, who was having a sale this weekend, we rewarded ourselves with a visit. Walk in the door and was greeted by name, oops, even though Lexx has been going there since a little boy. Also worked out that all the rewards before the work wasn't the best plan... oh well. We got:
The White Lioness
In Cold Blood
Made in America
The Reluctant Fundamentalist
Dissolution
Cold Comfort Farm
Advent
How to be Death (Tara from Buffy!)
The Dark Crystal (yes, as in the Muppets movie)
The Drowning City
The Ladies of Grace Adieu
Surface Detail
The Bone People
The Dogs of Riga: Kurt Wallander
Faithful Place
A Vision of Fire (yup, Scully)
The Likeness
And present copies of:
The Lies of Locke Lamora
The Republic of Thieves
It was 30% off if we used a codeword (cheeky). So Lexx told me I was a cheeky monkey for buying too many books, and we got $35 off the price.
Usually you can be a bit more overt, but a whole heap of people came in at the time and were hanging around the desk. If you are obvious to others, you don't get it :(
Oh, funny! I love that, Rusalka. A fun discount, what could be better? And such a great haul too. :)

I hadn't planned on reading it for the Geocache challenge but I might change my mind. It would certainly be a good fit for the 'feather on the cover' task...
I am such a sucker for the Audible deals. I just picked up the daily deal, plus 2 from the sale. I still have a few that I'm thinking about with the sale, but haven't quite decided. I seem to go through my credits awfully quickly. daily deal:
